I have this version;

I'd love to know if anyone has compared this version to the new U.S. release. Is the difference worth a double dip?
Well drat!When I saw this thread I thought there would be news about a worthy BD release of MFL to replace that abomination that was released before (I refuse to buy it).Here's hoping this tidbit does mean we will see a worthy release in the not too distant future.
Perhaps they might do this "silently", but I bet sites like Digital Bits wouldn't be so silent and word would spread quickly through forums such as this.
A lone poster claiming to have something special without posting any evidence just doesn't cut it.
The "corrected" version also does not fade to black, however it stills fades incorrecty instead of changing from red to blue with no amount of fading in between.
Can you clarify how the copy you received behaves? I strongly suspect it's the still incorrect "corrected version".
I've been searching this long thread and cannot find if Mr. Harris has posted a review yet of this release (using the search feature didn't help). If he has posted his impressions, could someone please point me to that post?
Thanks.:)
I would give the "most disappointing Blu ray of a classic" award to My Fair Lady. MFL is a far bigger mess than WSS. I did buy WSS but will not buy MFL.
I saw that and to me it just appears that it will be a single disc release while the prior releases were multidisc. I seriously doubt the April release will include any fixes other than what's been done so far (if you can call it a fix :rolleyes: ).
That still looks better than the current "fix".
The fix offers some improvement, but I'm not sure it's enough to motivate me to go through the exchange process.
I just got the same thing.
However, at this point I'm waiting for more feedback on the correction since initial reports seem to indicate that the intro is still wrong. If so, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble since nothing else seems to have been...
