New Panasonic F87 dvd player: dvd-audio, HDCD and........Pro-Logic II??

HDCD in Panny? That's really new. I even think it's almost a dead technology because the recent aparition of DVD-A and SACD. But it's a really a good point to add that kind of support.... does any other new Panny model has it too?

What if...$12000 HT budget? How would you build it?

BenQ is one of the trademarks of the Acer Group. I don't know about projectors but they make all their optical units for computers (CD-RW and DVD) and other kind of hardware.

What if...$12000 HT budget? How would you build it?

(Probably, the best post I've seen in a long time). I'm probably wrong with the prices, because I'm foreign. Well, the new Denon 3805 = $1000 Add that a Denon DVD player (with DVD-A and SACD), like 2900, AFAIR = $1200 Speakers for 7.1 (not bipolar!!!), I'm not sure for the brand... I...

    3805 Images

As I can see, this is the first generation of Denon receivers with HDCD support from the receiver, like some (top of line) Marantz (influence of the marriage perhaps?), Kenwood, NAD and H/K. Very elegant design by the way

    Auto-reverse audio cassette deck question

I've rememeber to see one of these on action only in a music video. Paula Abdul - The way that you love me (1989). You can't see the make or the model of the deck, but you can see it on action. Almost all modern AR decks use a rotating head. I have a Kenwood KR-79CW (1993 AFAIK), a Sony and...

Need help digitizing library vinyl collection

In my humble opinion all the parts of the chain are very important to do this. The Turntable: Technics SL-1200 series (mkII or mkIII are good choices) with a good stylus (this is really important). Get a good cable a good preamplifier for that. The Sound Card: M-Audio Revolution 7.1 (it's a...

    Ultimate high end system

Well, I've made the mistake once. I've bought in 1998 (a bit before the France Soccer Cup) a Lifestyle 12 (the original one, right now it's dead and I don't undestand why an stereo can work only for 5 years with very low usage). When I listened my first HK (coupled with Jamo speakers, a...

    best CD/HDCD/SACD/DVDA player for $500

Getting back to the HDCD problem.... I think there's no real universal disc player. There's something missing. The most missing thing is HDCD support because it's a propietary technology. It was dempany called Pacific Microsonics, and now it's part of Microsoft :frowning: Website: Link...

What Electronics are YOU Interested In?

I only want one thing: a Denon AVR 5803 with HDCD decoding or a H/K AVR 8000 with phono input (preamplifier) and two tapes circuits (to hook up an MD and a tape deck) That will match my perfect receiver. My US$0.02

Pluging the computer to the Denon3802

There are 2 ways to connect your Denon and your computer: - Analog: Using an 1/8" to Stereo RCA in an analog input of your receiver. - Digital: (my choice.... a lot of less noise). If you have a soundcard with digital output, like a SB Live! (Platinum with Live!Drive or the original deluxe...

    Receivers w/HDCD HK v. NAD v. Rotel v. Arcam

Selected models from Marantz can do HDCD too! Current NAD Receivers use Crystal 24 bit DSP. (Upgrade it to 32 bit?) Anyway, both DSPs can do HDCD decoding.... if you show them how to do it :D The NAD C541i CD player can also decode HDCD (BB DAC/HDCD decoder) in the current line. Note to...

BTW, thanks for the info on the 6070. The Yamaha HAS more DSP power than the Kenwood. In the Kenwood website, you can see: DSP Processor: 32-Bit ADI Melody AFAIK Yamaha works with 42-bit DSP (made by..... Yamaha)
