so i went to B&H in NY (down the street from work) and picked up a pair of grado SR60's. these things sound great...however like the reviews i've read online say, there is a good deal of sound leakage. enough to make me want to return them and get another pair with a closed design as i think...
i have SB2's as my front mains, C1 as my center, SS1's as my surrounds with a KSW12 as my sub. i have a small room, and it fills it very nicely. i'm a klispch fan myself and have no problem recommending them to anyone.
hey all, im in the market for a new set of headphones. can anyone recommend any? i'm a fan of klipsch, but i'm not a huge fan of in-ear buds in general. does anyone have, or have tried, the klipsch customs? i'm looking for a pair in the 100-150 range. thanks!
i HOPE its not the connection on the PS3's side. the only reason why i would think that was because the strange B&W and off-color image i got when i hooked the component cables up to it and i had to wiggle it to get it display properly. i havent touched it since, and its been fine in that...
so i jumped on the PS3/BR band wagon yesterday. i think i'm pretty happy i did.
however i'm having a problem i think. i noticed that there is a slight "double image" when i'm going through HDMI. for example, its very apparent when i go to the PS store and it says "please wait" while it...
so today, me and pops went out and picked up a pair of polk RM 101's. we went to the circuit city by us, and they had nothing in stock..not even those infinitys. in fact they looked like they were in construction too like BB...anywho, my dad saw the polks and liked the size of them more than...
i tried to look up the receiver online but info was a bit short on it. a sub seems out of the question for them as well. also, they would only be using these for listening to CDs.
i would say anything over 200 is out of the question for them. i don't think sound quality is super important to them, but i don't want to buy them a piece of junk either, you know? i think size is more important to them. they want something that can comfortably sit on top of their cabinet. thanks!
hey all, its been a while since i posted here but i'm looking for some advice for my parents. they just remodeled their living room and want to replace an old pair of kenwood speakers. i cant remember the model number on them, but they were a three way floor model dated back to sometime...
ok, so like most folks on here, my fam and i are getting my dad a DVD recorder for x-mas this year. he mainly wants it to dub old home movies off onto. our budget is $250-$300, and i think we can get a decent recorder for that. however, the different blank media formats are giving me a headache...
russel, thanks for the update. i appreciate a user's input. i went to BB today, and their satellite was out for the entire row of sets, including the toshiba :frowning: maybe the set just needed some time to burn in?
well, i'm hoping that there'll be some responses here, as i am interested in picking this particular model up for myself. maybe its just a faulty set? where did you get yours from, if you don't mind me asking?
thanks for the responses all...
i've been shopping the stores (sears, circuit city, best buy, and tweeter) to see these models in person. i don't seem to be effected by the rainbow effect, so i don't think that's a cause of concern for me.
at this point, i am heavily leaning towards the...
all,
i'm looking at 2 different RPTVs over at crutchfield's...the Toshiba 46HM84 DLP, and the Sony KF-42WE610 LCD (i'd inlcude links but the BB won't allow me).
i'm leaning towards the toshiba as i've liked their products in the past, but that sony looks like a good deal. any thoughts? thanks!
hey all, ok, here's a newbie question for everyone. i am planing on upgrading my TV in the near future. actually, i am very happy with the set (a 20 in. toshiba flat screen) i have now, however i have moved recently and it is now too small. so, i'd like to upgrade and am highy considering...
thanks for the replies, folks! i have already hooked the dvd player directly to the TV and alas the problem persists. however, i don't use this TV set much since i have moved out, and i asked around the house if this problem persists elswhere. my sis's boyfriend tells me he has seen this problem...
hey all, my family got my dad a very basic sony home theater in box. we have a few gaming systems and a DVD player hooked up through the receiver for him and for the most part it works fine. however, i noticed that when i switch between, say, two different gaming systems, or if there is a...
thanks for the replies folks...has best buy gotten the only means of obtaining the synergy line? a tad dissapointing as there's no way to shop around for prices...
hey all, i've been thinking of getting a pair of klipsch ss-1 to match my front SB-2 mains and SC-1 center. however, its not like it used to be, and i've been finding them hard to come by on the old net. even ebay seems dry. can anyone reccommend any online dealers? thanks!
it seems to me that most recent DVD releases no longer offer a standard 2.0 audio mix and plays in 5.1 by default. this is fine when i'm watching discs on my setup, but more often than not im watching a flick on a friend's or the family TV that uses only the basic setup. the sound is unbalanced...
well, i got my DVD-910 on monday from crutchfield, and 2 days in advance to boot! i'm pretty happy with my purchase! i've only got a 20 inch toshiba flat screen, but its deffinately a better picture than my old panasonic A120. i don't have a progressive scan set, so i can not add to this area...
just curious if anyone else may have picked this one up? i'm in the market for a new player, and the 910 looks good so far. any other opinions out there on this player?
i personally have a pair of klipsch SB2 mains, an SC-1 center and a KSW-12 sub, and im perfectly happy with them. i'm absolutely sure that the reference line is much better than the synergy series as much as they should since they generally retail for twice the amount. it sounds to me that if...
funny this thread is here as i just got in from BB and lo and behold there was a small supply of klipsch and athenas on the floor. they were kinda grouped together which didnt make much sense, and of course the sub was rediculously cranked high. i thought it was just me who thought that :)...
i'm kind'a in the same boat as the original poster...rediculously small space and not alot of cash to toss around. right now, i have klipsch SB2 mains and klipsch SC1 for my center, along with a KSW-12 sub. i'm very happy with it, but for my surrounds i have a pair of KLH sattelites that were...
I was at work when my new Klipsch KSW-12 sub came in the mail today, so you can imagine my excitement when i got home! However, I have a (somewhat) stupid question about hooking it up to my Sony DD/DTS reciever. The reciever has a single sub-out RCA jack, however, the actual sub has two RCA...
