Hi all, I've searched the strings but it seems to no avail. During playing a DVD, this is not an issue. However, when I watch regular cable it becomes a problem, namely, my Sony SW-WM40 subwoofer goes ON when there is significant bass playing and then off after a time period of little/no bass...
I know. I've been trying to convince him to buy real speaker but he refuses. This is what he has:
Anyway to connect to an Onkyo TSR600 receiver? The woofer has a digitial coaxial INPUT however the onkyo does NOT have a coaxial OUTPUT only a optical OUTPUT. Is there a type of converter than...
Thanks Chella. Actually, the Onkyo TSR600 does NOT have a pre-out so I think that's not possible :frowning: . Thanks though. I was hoping for some kind of converter/adapter that could connect a Digitial Optical with a Digital Coaxial or vice versa.
This is the speaker system:
Can this be connected to the Onkyo 600 receiver and act as the speaker system? The subwoofer has a digital coaxial connection but wouldn't that then have to be connected to the receiver's DIGITAL COAXIAL OUT (which the receiver does not have)?
Hey John, Maybe I was not being too detailed enough. But the speakers can ONLY connect to the subwoofer. So therefore, all audio has to go through the RCA inputs on the subwoofer. Given that, which slot on the receiver would you connect this RCA in from the woofer in order for ALL audio to go...
Hi all, My friend currently owns an Onkyo 600 receiver and is currently looking to buy mains/rears. However, in the interim, he wants to hook his computer speaker system (i.e. Receiver ---> Subwoofer ----> 4 Speakers). The Sub only has an RCA out and no other inputs/outputs. What is the proper...

Vince,
Thanks so much for your help. You won't believe how much this has helped. The concepts seemed so simple to me but yet for some odd reason, it didn't work. I should stick to my day-job...need any stock tips? ;)
By the way, this site has just added another lifetime member. Hopefully...
Thanks Mike,
I actually have been to Tivocommunity BEFORE I got the receiver/speakers. I guess now it opens up a whole new can of worms. :frowning: Since I got a (probably pre-mature) lifetime subscription of Tivo, it looks like I will be forced to use the RCA audio. But does having the...
Thanks again Jeff, well I've gotten the DVD working which is a good thing but for some odd reason I can't get Cable or even regular cable to work. Does the Tivo have to be hooked up in order for my Cable to work? The most simple step (and probably first) is for some odd reason becoming quite a...
Thanks alot Jeff, I'm going to try that out now. I've been pulling my hair out for the last couple hours. I refuse to go to work tomorrow until I finish it. At this point, I can't even get the cable connection working properly. Also, stupid question, but the cable wire from the wall goes into...
Hi all,
I just received today my Onkyo SR600, and my JBL NSP-1 speakers. In addition I have a Sony Wega 27" (has a component and S-video connections) and a Panasonic DVD RV31 (has component and S-video) and my Scientific Atlanta digital cable box (has S-Video but NO Component video...
Wow,
The deals here are incredible for the Onkyo SR600. I would be forever indebted if I could get over a copy of a receipt of the Onkyo for $399 or anything close to that!!!
Howie
Hi all, I'm a newbie too and am thinking of buying a receiver around $400 that satisfies the following needs. First of all, I have to ask a newbie question that's been bothering me. 1) What does a digital output on a receiver do? Is that for pre-amps? As for the right receiver, I need to...
