I need a new DVD player...suggestions...? I have concerns thou!

Hi there! Speaking of Toshibas, I have an SD-4800. I got it at Best Buy for $99 or so, which is an excellent price for pro-scan. I think they're clearancing them out or something. It's a good budget DVD player with DD/DTS capabilities. I've read on www.Audioreviews.com that it locks up when...

    WTB: Computer or parts

Hi Shawn I have an Abit KG-7 RAID motherboard that you might want; I'm asking for $35 + shipping. Also, you didn't specify what type of ram you needed, but this board only takes DDR ram. I also have some Crucial 256MB PC2100 ram for sale. For that, I'm looking for $35 also. PM me or contact...

    RXV 2200 Volume Control

Hello Jamie Thanks for the suggestion, but those were the first things I checked for when my remote went on the fritz. I haven't found a reset button yet though. Maybe I'll look. Thanks again! Cathy

    RXV 2200 Volume Control

Hi Thanks Bob, but I don't have the Silver Brick Remote. I have a black one with a slide-out cover at the bottom. I think it's the RAV224. Thanks again!

    RXV 2200 Volume Control

Hello Everyone, I have a Yamaha RXV2200 and I'm having a hard time controlling the volume of the receiver through the remote control. I was able to do it just a few times, but for some odd reason, it doesn't work anymore. The rest of the remote works without any trouble. Am I missing...

    Yamaha Warranty

Thanks Brian. What do I do if it isn't covered? It was written on the site that the "full manufacturer's warranty" is included. When I emailed the guy, he said "there should have been one in the box." Any suggestions? Thanks everyone.

    Yamaha Warranty

Well I checked the back of the unit last night and there is a serial number. It doesn't look like it's been tampered with or anything. How do I check it with Yamaha? Thanks everyone!

    Yamaha Warranty

Hi everyone I just ordered an RXV2200 from an Ebay "power seller." The receiver is claimed to be brand new, not b- or gray-market, and comes with full manufacturer's warranty. I got the receiver today, and it was sealed with a gold sticker that said "Yamaha Preferred Customer -- passes...

    Yamaha RXV2200 vs. HTR5490: Same?

Besides "cosmetic differences," what are the differences between these two models? They look exactly the same, even with the same remote, but the HTR is 80 x 6 whereas the RXV is 100 X 6. What are the real differences between the RXV and HTR lines?

Yamaha RX-V2000: Anything to write home about?

Well, at the price he quoted me, he assured me that Mindsway (name of store) is an authorized Yamaha dealer. Which means I'm entitled to Yamaha warranty, not warranty from his own shop. I have it in writing.. would that be enough? How can I check it out?

    Athena's: Goddess?

Bruce, I think with the SCT line, you can use bookshelves as mains, and then have the option to convert both to towers, or leave them as mains and then use only one sub that isn't connected to anything. The frequency range on the S's go from about 50-20k. The sub goes from about 25 to 150...

    Athena's: Goddess?

Bruce Like Bob said, they're made by API. There are three very basic lines; the SCT line, Audition series that Bob mentioned, and the Point Five Series. The SCT series only have 7 speakers in them. S1, S2, and S3, and to match, P1, P2, and P3. The S's are bookshelves and P's subs. And then...

    Athena's: Goddess?

Hi. This is my very first post. I'm rather new to this home audio thing. I'm looking for a nice set of entry-level speakers, but I want them to be something I can still use when I eventually want to expand/upgrade my system. I've demo'd a few so far, but the Athena S2's have been the most...
