Boy, some of these questions... Can you imagine if Orson Welles had lived to do a BD Live chat for Citizen Kane? "who came up with the idea to name the sled rosebud?"
c_nolan: "It was very exciting to finally see Batman turn his head. This was the result of years of research and millions of dollars." Best response of the night so far.
Nicholas, did you ask that question? I didn't check out the screen name.
I'm in for tonight's screening. The text box at the top is a little too small for my liking but this seems like a neat experiment and I love the idea of a HTF screening some time soon.
Glad I'm not the only one that experienced start up issues with this disc. I knew the HTF would come through with a solution! Ah, what happened to the good ol' days of popping a disc in, kicking back on your sofa and watching forty minutes previews before being confounded with an...
I just saw parts I and II last night at the Arclight on the Cinerama Dome and I can absolutely attest to this fact. This restoration is nothing short of a miracle and Mr. Harris should be very proud of his work on these films. I can't wait to pick up the Blu-Ray box set on Tuesday!
Great review. I just picked this up yesterday and it hasn't left my PS3 since. It'll be interesting to see just how many people prefer the smilebox version to the letterbox presentation. In any case, I'm glad Warner's gave viewers an option.
I can't believe I missed the street date on this one last week! I've been holding out for an HD copy of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" ever since it was released on HD-DVD and almost broke down and bought a player just for this disc. Reading your review, I'm glad I held out for the Blu-Ray...
It's been such a long time since I watched the complete series when it originally aired on MTV that I completely forgot about that episode. I really hope this series sees a release on DVD soon, it's always been a favorite despite the fact that I've never read a Maxx book.
Thanks for the review, can't wait to pick this set up.
Does this mean The Maxx will be coming to DVD soon? I've worn out my old tape a long time ago and have been dying to see this complete series on DVD.
Same here. I saw this flick opening weekend with about three other people in the audience but we all had a great time. Thanks for the review Richard, can't wait to check out Walk Hard again on BD.
I really love the packaging for this release and I'm excited to learn that Warner will continue to release classic films in HD with this simple and classy case. I had the chance to see this film projected on 35mm last year at the Arclight in Hollywood and I must say that the image found on...
Thanks for the recommendations folks. I was eyeing the 805 last year but can't remember why I passed, may have been the lip sync issue I've read about. Still an impressive machine with or without a phono input. Dan, I wasn't aware of the Bellari VP129 but if it can deliver the quality...
Well, I guess I should have clarified that I was looking for an all in one solution to my problem, although I may look into the alternative if no other solution presents itself.
So after six long years I'm finally ready to breakdown and buy a new receiver with one small caveat. Obviously, I'm looking for something that has atleast two HDMI inputs, can pass through 1080p video and decode all the latest digital audio formats BUT also has an analog Phono input for a...
I had a similar experience when I caught the flick last Friday. I noticed a lot of people really getting into the show, a good number even held up their cell phones at one point. Pretty neat flick all in all, don't wait for the DVD on this one.
The Gabriel era box set should be arriving later this year per the official website:
Genesis-Music.com
I still haven't picked up the second box set yet. Is the version of "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" on the Invisible Touch remix the single version or the complete, original album version?
Good choices all around so far. Here's my list: 1. Nellie McKay - Obligatory Villagers 2. Tegan & Sara - The Con 3. Lily Allen - Alright, Still (I think this qualifies as an '07 US release) 4. Lucinda Williams - West 5. Suzanne Vega - Beauty & Crime
