Thanks Aaron, I appreciate your response. It's nice to know I wasn't as stupid as I thought. Do all receivers do this, or do others let you do adjust each speaker independently? As my listening area is not cetered it would be beneficial to be able to do that. Oh well something else to look for...
Hi All, I finally bought a Radio Shack spl meter, and I was trying to set the speaker levels last night on my Sony 3ES. I went thru the manual and tried following the instructions. Not an easy task with this manual. When I was sending the signal to all the speakers one at a time and adjusting...
Dani, I have the JBL s-38's front and rear, the s center and the pb12 sub hooked up to a Sony 3es. Sounds great to me. I purchased it from J and R in NYC. Where in NY are you? They have free shipping on JBL.
Hi, I want to calibrate my HT and am wondering which is better, and easier to use,AVIA or Video essentials? Where is the best place to buy it? Thanks, Jimmy
Hi everyone,
Having trouble with my receiver. I can't get sound when I switch input to my TV/SAT setting. I get sound and video from all the other inputs. Anyone have any ideas? Trying to read the manual from Sony doesn't really help much :frowning:
Thanks in advance for all your input.
Jimmy
Hi Devin, I have S-38's as fronts and surrrounds. They are mounted vertically using B-tech b77 wall mounts. I tried them both horizontally and vertically, and could not tell the difference. I chose vertical because it looked better. I have them tilted in to the listening area and I think they...
I have all my speakers JBL s-38's except the center mounted at ceiling level. I used the B-tech b77 mounts. Works really well. Sounds great to me and the wife is happy there aren't speakers all over the floor, except of course the sub. Jimmy
Thanks guys for your thoughts. I checked the cable first and it was tight. I then hooked it up to a different outlet and it still had a loud hum. This was without being hooked up to the rec. at all. So now it's in the shop, should be about 2 weeks I was told.
I have a JBL PSB 12 sub that is making a nasty LOUD hum. It's only about 2 months old...:frowning: Has anyone else had this problem? If so is it common? It was working fine till yesterday. Now when I power it on it just gets a humming.
Thanks, Jimmy
I have mine (4) mounted on the walls using B-tech speaker brackets. I had to screw into the cabinet to hold them in place, but I called JBL and they said that it would no be a problem. The fronts are mounted in the corner toed in and facing down and the surrounds are on the side walls facing...
Just finished setting up my 1st HT. I learned alot reading this forum, so thatk you everyone. It consists of a Sony 3ES receiver, 4 JBL s-38, the s-center II and the PB-12 sub. It sounds graet, house shakes, and windows rattle. Now I need to get an SPL and set each speaker. So thanks...
