    What's happening to dts

This is all very interesting but I have to say again that the only thing that the movies theaters can give me now is a bigger screen and the social atmosphere. I also agree that the dts movie/dvd's sound depends on how it was mixed. Movie/dvd that uses the same exacting measures in both formats...

    What's happening to dts

Well thanks guys for all the input on this most serious subject. The really bad thing about this thing is that it use to be a real treat to go to the the movies because since you knew that unless you had a laser disc player, which I don't you would always get something special from the cinemas...

    What's happening to dts

I know what is happening in the rest of the country but here in Chicago there seems to be a plan to ride the theaters of the dts format. There's this lie coming from somewhere at the top of things that is telling theater managers that the dolby digital format is far supiereor to dts(Theater...

Well I own one and the only thing that I can say bad is I wish it had one more coaxial input, other than that I think that for the money it is a hard act to follow.

When listening to CD's through a receiver, do you find the bass adequate?

Well the only thing that I can think of is that the bass for movies is usually stronger than the bass for music so you have probably adjusted the movie bass accordingly to keep it from getting out of hand which when you go to music leaves it a little lacking. You did the right thing in adjusting...

    Channel level settings

I want to ask a question about channel level settings. I would like to get a answer from someone who honestly knows the subject. Is there really an advantage to setting the channel levels at or below 0 as opposed to setting them all the way up and adjusting them from there or is it just fashion?

Is THX better than DTS and DD?

    Circuit City Sound Rooms

I used to work at Circuit City, what a bore. Those sound rooms can be deceiving in their size we used to run receivers at +10 & 00 and these were fairly powerful units and the better of them didn't sound bad at all.

I use Paradigm references for my mains referance cc for center polk audio 500fxs at the rear Velodyne HGS 12 sub And a Denon POA 5200 power amp to drive the main speakers. It is a shame they don't make the POA anymore it is a find amp. The 3802 I think is easier...

    Receiver constrution

I need major help!!! Save this newbie pleeease!!!

First of all If you have no bass you speakers are probably set to small and you should have a LFE line level out hooked up to your sub (do not remember if you said you have a sub or not) You can hook up your DVD player to the SACD dvd-audio inputs on the back of your reciever but you generally...
