I saw Steve Jobs and I really liked it. I came into it knowing it would be a dramatization. Actually it felt like a stage play to me the way it was structured. I was so interested later last night I went to On Demand and watched Alex Gibneys documentary Steve Jobs: Man Inside the Machine. It was...
Mr Harris a big Thank You for all that you have done on this and other films. I'm sure I am speaking for many film fans that we appreciate this beyond words. Thanks also to the people that have helped to get these projects done.
Mr Harris I agree totally! I also saw it at the Plitt Century Plaza on a trip to L.A. It is my number 5 favorite film of all time. I love everything about it, but I really loved the score by Bill Conti. I also remember it was the first time I paid more for parking than the movie.
Glad it helped. I hope it doesnt bother your movie watching too much. Its kinda funny since I got the Toshiba since I felt it had a better picture than the Panasonic at the time I bought it. From your log in name it appears you are an Formula One fan? I can hardly wait till Sppd tv is high def...
I also have a Toshiba 42hp66. I started getting the red spots during warrenty period. I had it fixed at no cost and the spots went away. They replaced two boards. Now for the bad news, they have reappeared. Now I have had the set 2 and a half years so no more warrenty. This model of toshiba uses...
I am going tonight to see a 70mm print of 2001 at the Cinerama in Seattle. It will be the 12th time I have seen it in 70mm. I feel very fortunate right now! My favorite movie in my favorite theatre. I can hardly wait.

I also found the Kubrick box set under Sci Fi at Best Buy. Payed $54.99. I watched first 45 min of Clockwork and 2001 and they are both improvements over the Digital remasters,
Well i finally got my answer back from Sony Home Entertainment and they said the mastering was fine and to contact the manufactor of my dvd player. So I called JVC and they said they were aware of problems with sony discs playing. There solution is for me to send the dvd player to them to fix. I...
I too am very sad about the small stores going out of business. I love to by things from a person. Here in Seattle we had Videophile which is going out of business and was Laserdisc only when it opened. They gave a discount for preorders. But they were more than BB and CC on a lot of things...
Harlod, I went to the Sony home entertainment web site and found a place there to email their support team. As of today I do not yet have an answer to the problem from them.
I just got an email asking for the number on the inside ring of the dvd from Sony Home Entertainment. I wonder how many out there are having the same problem.
Well I took this one back got a new and it wont play on my JVC either. Now I am upset and really dont know what to do as I am a big James Bond fan and dont really want to be without this movie. The only thing I can think of is that my JVC is a combo DVD-VHS player and burner. I bought so I can...
I just got home from purchasing Casino Royale put it in my JVC DR-MV7 and it will not play. Tried unplugging the DVD player then plugging it back in-no luck. If I take it back will all the others be that way? Anybody else have problems? I have 180 DVDs and this is the only one that wont play...
Here are the settings I am using. Brightness 31 Contrast 20 Color 20 Tint 0 Sharpness 20 ( some on avs forum run this at 5) Color temp Med I got these using the THX optimizer on The Increadibles. But as always its really up to what you like. Just get that brightness down! Its way too...
Boy after reading this thread I am more confused than ever about buying the UE over the SE that I all ready have. Does it make a lot of difference that the movie is on one disc and the other stuff on the second disc? Is there a big difference with less compression? The Fred Meyer near me has...
I did a lot of research and looking before I bought and I was totally sold on the Toshiba 42hp66. To me it looked great. And set up at home and calibrated with the THX test in the Increadibles it looked even better. And it finished dead last! I dont get it. I compared it with dvd, hd and sd...
Kudos to a man who has done some truly outstanding work since the heyday of Laserdiscs. For those of us who care about film his name on a project means alot. Now with that said, how about Grand Prix Mr. Feltenstein?
