I checked my copy and it's just fine. How can you tell when it was manufactured?

I bought a JVC XV-S500 a couple of years ago that was modified by the dealer and has a built-in PAL converter. Looks and plays great. I paid $240.

I've had the 508 since November and love it. The only problem (and it's minor) is that the remote isn't quite as powerful as my previous one (the original 4000 receiver).
