    Stupid questions...but need an answer!!!

That's unbelievable that a top manufacture will not include it's set to accept 720p, I know it's not the popular HD signal but it's what ABC uses. Do you know what happens when a 720p source comes in on a Mitsubishi?

    Stupid questions...but need an answer!!!

Most TV's won't play your Xbox games at 720p they will accept the signal and convert it. I all so play a fair amount of games I bought a Sony KP-46WT500 rear projection. Phosphor burn can occur no matter what but if you take the proper precausions then you can greatly reduce the risk. The two...

Just about all HDTV's accept 720p but they either up-convert to 1080i or down-convert to 480p.

Anyone have a Sony GrandWega60" and Monsters Inc?

Most 1.85:1 movies seem to fill a 1.78:1 screen with no mattes.

Turning pillar boxing from gray to black? (Sony)

I'm talking about the TV itself. When I'm watching older movies on digital cable I would prefer not to stretch them, I really don't care if I distort TV shows most of the new ones I watch are on in wide screen HDTV anyway. Gray pillar boxing is somewhat an eye sore IMO compared to black. If it...

Turning pillar boxing from gray to black? (Sony)

I have KP-46WT500 and have heard of people turning the gray pillar boxing to black. Through my HDTV receiver it put's black bars on the side and looks much better then gray. I do know that gray is the most neutral color on the spectrum and reduces the chances of burn in, but seeing how I don't...

Component input switch for my single comp. input tewee

I know what you mean. You'd figure that TV makers would realize by now that people require several component inputs in this age of home theater....but they do not. My TV has two component inputs for six component devices, it's not a devastating problem because I can easily get behind my set, but...

Suggestions on where to start looking for RPTV

You don't want to go cheap on a TV. It would be better to spend $2k+ and get a good set that will last and has the features and PQ to stand the test of time (somewhat), then it would be to go cheap. I mean if your going to spend $1,200 on an alright set, why not spend a few more hundred and get...

Suggestions on where to start looking for RPTV

I have the Sony KP46WT500, and the picture is good, its incredible after using Avia. All opinions from here down are after using Avia. DVDs look better then I have anticipated (with a progressive scan DVD player). Skin tone is life like, and real depth is added to a lot of scenes. I cant...

What's a good HDTV Monitor for $2000 or less?

I have the Sony KP46WT500. The picture on digital cable is alright, DVD's are amazing, and high definition in unbelievable. It has some of the best stretch/zoom modes that I have seen. The only problem is that there is no built in HDTV tuner, so that's around another $600 or so for the tuner and...

Searching for an HD antenna--this any good?

I have a quick question about antennaweb.org. Under the live date if it doesn't say "under review" "now live" or a future date, is it not available in my area yet? Sorry I know its probably a dumb question, but I'm not picking up ABC but it has nothing under now live.

Searching for an HD antenna--this any good?

Thank you. I think I'm going to put it on the roof. I do get channels in when the antenna is back 5 feet from where it is now. I'm going to put it on the roof above those chairs I talked about in my previous post to see how that works out.

My HT is in the basement, what do I need to get OTA HD broadcast?

HD Cable is not offered in my area. I picked up the STB (Zenith HDV420) and antenna (Trek TV55). I get all the channels that I was expected to get, and they all look great.

Searching for an HD antenna--this any good?

I just picked up the TV55 and Zenith HDV420 HDTV receiver tonight. I haven't had a chance to mount it where I wanted to but I did hook it up and set the antenna on the porch. I got every channel that www.titanTV.com said I would. All the signals are upper normal to good. The only complaint I...

Just got HDTV receiver and antenna, few questions.

My antenna is indoor/outdoor and the manual says Is it a fire risk not to ground the antenna? How important is it to have it grounded? Do they just put that in there to cover their own asses? I'm just going to set it up indoors for now. Thanks for any input.

My HT is in the basement, what do I need to get OTA HD broadcast?

I all ready have digital cable so I don't need it to get analog channels, just HD. Thats why I'm thinking I should wait a few months till I get my satellite dish instead of spending $500 now, and another $500 for a dish receiver.

My HT is in the basement, what do I need to get OTA HD broadcast?

OK, my HT is located in my basement, there are no windows except one glass block that is completely covered to keep light out. I would like to get a STB box so I can get OTA, there are many stations in my area that are sending out the signals. What equipment will I need, how much would it cost...

Watching regular cable on HDTV Display

I recently bought Sony KP46WT500, and digital cable looks much better over my old set Sony 36 inch Wega. I guess it depends on your TVs modes for converting non digital signals.

    Component Video Gaming

From what Cnet says it does not even accept 720p sources. Which with the high price tag I find odd. It should accept them and, more then likely down convert, or up convert it. The only real way to find out is rent a game that supports 720p then go into your Xbox dash and turn all other modes off...
