Is anyone using their X Boxes for watching DVD's???"

Thanks Everyone, Even though none of you suggested using the Box as a primary DVD player after buying one I tried it with a couple of movies. From Hell and K-Pax were both rendered pretty well on my Tube TV (32" Sharp) using Interlaced but feeding the data with the High Def A/V Pack and it's...

X Box, and who is using it>

Thanks All, It's my intention to pick up a "Box" pretty soon, but I was wondering if it was all Microsoft wanted us to believe. Since most of you have been using it as a Gaming Machine only that is where it's place will be at my house. Thanks again;)

Is anyone using their X Boxes for watching DVD's???"

I was just wondering if anyone was using the "Box" as their regular DVD Player? If not, why and what are you using instead?

X Box, and who is using it>

These are some interesting responses. I was a big time PC Gamer for several years and just got burned out by too much Quake III, Unreal Tournament, Diablo II, Need for Speed...the list goes one for miles. So, like many of you (us) here on the forum I have superseded my lust for games with...

What are the 'other' good surround matches for Mirage OM's

Matt, I wait in baited anticipation for the OMNISAT's:b Have you heard a price range yet? Han, You must be my long lost twin on this one. The OMNISAT might be the answer, but it looks to be a wall mount only speaker.

X Box, and who is using it>

This is a copy of another thread that I posed in the Audio Sources area. What are you using your XBoxes for? Would it be for playing DVD's, Playing CD's, or Games (of course!) I thought I would ask this as part of my HT upgrade path. As I am not sure if it would be wise to use an X Box for...

What type of digital cable do you run from your DVD to Receiver

I use Coax for the DVD Player, and an optical for my CD changer.

How many of you are using an X Box and what for?

I thought I would ask this as part of my HT upgrade path. Several print and web based review sites reported the Microsoft X Box as a decent DVD Player. Does anyone use it as a primary DVD Player? If so what are your experiences? Since the XBox has some excellent games it might have found...

What are the 'other' good surround matches for Mirage OM's

All righty ten, Nobody has a suggestion? Then, here goes...What I would like to get is a few suggestions regarding bookshelf sized speakers I should devote audition time to. Speakers that might image, sound stage and timber match well with the Mirage OM lineup. Price range is a minor...

What are the 'other' good surround matches for Mirage OM's

Hello All, I pose this question not just to the Mirage Faithful but, others as well. What are my options for matching surround speakers for the Mirage OM series? I haven't been all that impressed with their R2's and was wondering if anyone has had success using another Brand of speaker? I...

Tsohiba SD4700, JVC XV75GD, or Sony DVP-NC650V with good tube TV

Hey all, I'm in the market for a new DVD Player... and ready to adopt either the SACD or DVD-A formats. I currently have a Sharp DV740U, which is going to my sisters house as a gift. Intended use is 60% HT/40% Music. My Components are... 32" Sharp Tube style TV (non HDTV) w/ component...

Home theater sound, Totem and Mirage

Carl, I have recently sat down to personal listening session with speakers from both Totem and Mirage. In My Humble Option (IMHO) both brands far outshine anything from Bose for both HT and 2 channel stereo. On that note here is a bit more...I recently purchased a pair of Mirage OM-10-1's...

Does DTS actually sound better than DD 5.1?

IMHO Yes, DTS does have several advantges over Dolby Lab's DD 5.1! :emoji_thumbsup: For instance, on several higher end receivers such as my Yamaha RX-V1200 you have the option of that 6th channel (Rear Center). You have the additional DTS ES and DTS EX formats which have garnered favor among...

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

Mike, Thanks, I am now looking for KLF-C7 cc. If they are still available on the net I will probably go for that in a system something like this. - 2 KLF (20's or 30's) for main's - KLF-C7 or RC3 Center - Sub??? Phil, Thanks also! I do understand that mixing say the KLF-10 or 20's...

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

Thanks Andrew and all, I am now searching for a better price on one Legend Series. One more question, what is a good center speaker for the Legend Series?

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

OK now, who owns or who has heard these KLF-10's extensively? I heard them once and they were pretty darned nice! But, which one of you has actually heard them? My second question involves the HT and Musical capabilities of the KLF's versus the SF2 or SP1? What is better?

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

Thanks All, Brian, Yes, there were some JBL Northridge series (ND310) floor-standing speakers at my house for several weeks. They have been returned, due to a growing muddiness in mid range. :frowning: I was also concerned that they needed 24 to 48" away from everything (Walls...

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

Thanks all! It appears that your advice as usual is spot on. I am simply searching for the best speaker for my set up!!! IMHO it is the personal opinion that matters most. However, it was my original opinion that the JBL ND310's sounded excellent in the store and would sound at least that...

What would you do? Klipsch RB's or JBL S's

Hey all, A quick vote might help me make up my mind. I recently returned a pair of JBL ND310's and an N Center to Best Cry which were purchased on close out. The Center was pretty good, but those large Floor Standing 310's started out great. After a couple of weeks of break in the problems...

    Jbl S412pii

Aris, The 412II series are large alright. I seem to remember about 100 lbs of big. I did audition them (at Best Cry) and for the money you might want to go with something else. I liked the IL60's much more. But, if you like them the what the heck! btw my current front's are the ND310's;)

Floorstanding or Bookshef for 50% HT , 50% Music which is better?

Robert G, I have been hearing about this Bass Management problem with the first series of SACD and DVD-A Players. I wonder if the next phase of players will be able to handle this? If not that Outlaw might find a place at my house. ;) As for the lack of quality subs available this hasn't...

Floorstanding or Bookshef for 50% HT , 50% Music which is better?

Phil, I don't want to turn this into a Klipsch love fest, but they do make excellent 'Horns'. The RF3II's are the only thing I would want at this time. IMHO they ROCK to use them for HT only seems overkill. Getting any large (50+ pounds) speaker from a good Internet site is almost as...

Floorstanding or Bookshef for 50% HT , 50% Music which is better?

Mike, You must think I am a glutton for punishment. With 4 of those monster KLF's sitting next to my head there would be 2 bleeding ears! ;) And at that point there wouldn't be enough room in my Listening Room for me :frowning: Actually, I love Klipsch and would like to go with the...

Yamaha 5540? Any good? Better than Kenwood?

Geoffrey, Have you given the HTR 5540 and the JBL NSP1's a good listen? I did and was quite impressed with the quality out of a budget level system. If you want to go with the Yammie, then it should fill your needs. If not then check out the Denon 1602.
