yeah.... so it was a complete and utterly overambiSHUSH plan that didnt exactly take off.. i knew i'd be laughing when i returned to this post after i spent... all of 2 seconds thinking about varibles to take into consideration.. its all good tho.. aaaaand i didnt take into consideration the...
Alright, this is about as far fetched an idea as i've come up with in a long time but i feel it can be an excellent staging grounds for newer people getting into the complicated world of hifi and home theater. From my relativly small amount of time in the "scene" i've come to a general idea...
Well, an an owner of Infinity speakers that belong in the same series but in tower and bookshelf form ( The RS-5 towers and RS-3 bookshelves ) i find that the bookshelves give off better midrange and bass. The tweeter acts about the same in both. If i turn off the RS-5's built in amp'd 8inch...
Well, an an owner of a Infinity RS series ( RS-5's / RS-3's / CC-3 ) i love my infinities. I've heard Legacy's, Wharfdale's, Boston Acoustics newest... but nothing really seems to seperate the instruments as well as my RS's.. ( specifically the RS-3's ) and yes i realise i'm boosting an older...
what the heck? you had me hooked until the end of that to see what you finally wound up with that you were so wonderfully gleeful and what happens.. zip.. zero.. nada.. i almost choked.. you better reveal what you rode home with, hooked up in your home, shrieked out in simple bliss.
R - E - V...
I'd also love to see a review of these speakers, but considering how new they are that might explain the lack of reviews available. Honestly to me it just looks like the next evolution in the: RS --> IL --> Alpha set.. i would expect IL sound with tighter, more realistic midrange and bass...
As absurd as this may seem. Greenday - Warning The acoustic rock seems to pluck the strings right in front of you if the cd is on a quality system. The recording seems to be done at very high quality compared to most other cds i've heard. If only they would turn this into SACD or DVD-A...
i realise this might do better as a seperate post, but i was curious.. with a sony vega ( either regular or the xbr's ) would i need the scaling ability or the RP91 or would the RP82 do just fine? ( as far as anamorphic and non-anamorphic dvd ) also the same question goes to the Panasonic...
MAN!! Of all the threads i have read on these boards, i enjoy reading reviews comparing high end to low end and different models of a given company's products the most.. To Matt and Keith.. thank you, you helped me in a quest for knowledge pertaining directly to the 900v and related units...
i have a pioneer elite tx33 mated with Infinity Refrence speakers equipeed with EMiT tweeters.. definatly NOT a bright sound that i had before with a sony receiver.. the elite actually tamed the EMiT beast.. Pioneer's new stuff is pretty warm sounding i've found.. YMMV.
1st: this comment is NOT designed to start a flame war. last: Sound is ALWAYS personal preference.. there is NO BEST.. there is only what YOU like best.. there is NO best bang for buck.. there are only recommendations... maybe the way the volume dials turns feels so good to you that you dont...
Thanks for the tip... i'm starting to lean heavy towards seperates.. i figure if i'm going to upgrade from a POS receiver, i might as upgrade big.. at least within my budget.
Great number of response's.. here's what i've noticed so far.. #1 the push to go from all-in-one receiver to seperates is pretty large. Thanks GordonL for the tipoff for the setup on ebay. I wasnt one of the bidders, but i'm sure i can contact him if i decide to go that way. Question 1...
