ATTN: Jimmy_V!!
Something I've noticed with my set in squeeze mode...
With my player (Panny RP-91 v250 firmware) in 16:9 mode and viewing a 1:85 Anamorphic movie with the squeeze mode enabled, it looks like the picture is squeezed too much (between 1/2 and 3/4 inch), as compared to having...
Thanks for the info. So you have to go into the service mode to enable it?? Wonder why it's not enabled by default??
Anyway, glad to hear it *does* have the squeeze mode. I checked on the Amazon site and it shows that model to be discontinued. When did you buy yours??
EB
Hey Jimmy,
Thanks for the info. What the hell are these other people talking about then?? Does it do the squeeze through the remote or through the menu?? How do you like your set?? Too bad nobody stocks them over here. I would order one online, but shipping would kill me.

Why include this "Sound Effects Only" track in the first place, if it's included in the regular DD 5.1 track. Who wants to watch the movie listening to only the sound effects.
Seems like a waste of space to me and could have been left out to make room for the FULL movie without the layer...
Samsung now lists on their site a $100.00 "In Store" rebate on all DynaFlat HD Monitors... Purchase a DynaFlat HD model at participating retailers and get $100 Back! Take a chance on superior technology. Models include: - 27" : TXM2796HF/TXM2797HF/TXM2798HF - 30" ...
Hey Jon,
Thanks for the update. I actually got a call back from Samsung today (talked to Grace at Samsung 800.726.7864) and she confimred what Matt has been telling us...NO squeeze mode on the 2792. I believed you Matt, but I wanted to hear it from Samsung...sorry!
She is the customer...
Costco in my area finally put out a display model, so I went by to take a look. Looks like the 3281 is missing a couple of features that the 3297 has. From looking through the manual, it does *NOT* have PIP or BBE Sound. No big deal as I don't really care for PIP anyway and I run the sound...
Hey guys,
Any more info as to why this model doesn't do the squeeze even though the web site and brochure says it does?? Can it be turned on in the service menu??
Jon...did you go down to Samsung and see it in person??
Thanks for your help.
EB
Hey Bill,
I think you're right. I found this thread in the AVS forum regarding the different model numbers.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hreadid=161087
Looks like the 3281 is the same as the 3297...and $300.00 cheaper! Costco had two of them in stock. Might have to go back there...
Saw this TV at Costco (still boxed...no display) and would like some info if anyone has any. I looked on Samsungs site and they don't list it. Also called Samsung and they didn't have any info either. I "assume" it's this years model with the TXM prefix. Thanks for any help. Thanks, EB
So what happens if you have or buy a set *without* DVI?? What are the pros and cons of DVI?? What other standards other than DVI are in the works?? I'm looking at the Panny PT-53WX52 @Sears for $1999.00. Thanks for any insight. EB
Hey James,
Sears does carry Samsung, although they do not stock their analog line. I've e-mailed them and they claim to have no plans to do so either. Too bad. If they did I'd buy the TXM2792F right away. I'm not ready for HDTV. Too much $$$ and no programing in my area yet. Maybe Sears will...
Hey all,
Just received an e-mail from J&R that they have the TXM2792F in stock @ $479.00, although the web site does not show them yet. Hopefully they'll show up at Best Buy soon as well. If anyone gets a look a one, let us know what you think. Thanks!
EB
PS. J&R shows them in stock now.
Hey again,
Talked with Samsung this morning to ask about this model and the new TXM2792F replacement for the very popular TXL2791F. Wanted to know when the TXM will be available and if there is a 32" or 36" model in this series in the works. They said they do not get any "advance information"...
Sears has the TXL3276 on sale for $479 and you can take an extra 10% off till June 1st. I'm gonna go look at one today...if they have any. Here's the link. Hope it works!

Hey Michael,
Jason says his TXL3676 does the 16:9 squeeze trick. Does your 32" model do the same?? Is it available on the remote??
Anyone know when/if there will be replacements for these models that may address the input/output sharing issue??
I wish they would make a 32"-36" version of...
Thanks for the info. I may go down to my local Sears and take a look at one. Sears is the only store in my area that stocks them (no Best Buy etc.). They don't list the TXL3676 on the web site, only the TXL3276 model but I'll see what they have. Wish I knew it did the squeeze before. Probably...
Hey Jason,
Does this model really do the 16:9 squeeze?? I looked at the brochure on Samsungs site and it shows a "Zoom" mode that "makes the image fill the screen for DVD widescreen viewing", but no mention of the squeeze. Can you (or anyone else) confirm this?? Thanks for your help.

Hey all,
I e-mailed Panasonic regarding this issue and they replied that they "have no information on ANY firmware updates for this player." I replied that this player has indeed had numerous firmware updates and as of this writing is up to v250. They replied again with:
"Dear Panasonic...
Samsungs site lists the specs for both on the DynaFlat Analog page. Looks like the 2792 has a few more features. J&R also lists the 2792 but no stock as of yet. If anyone gets a look at the 2792, please post your "review". Thanks!
Specs for the TXM2790F:
4:3 DynaFlat™ TV
Monitor Style...
Thanks for the info. I hope the 2792 is considered a "higher end" model than the 2790 and includes this feature on the remote. Now if I could just find one where I am, I'd be set...no pun intended!
