I actually have the Denon 2900 and the Integra 8.3 in my store at the moment. The audio quality of the Denon seems slightly better (although not by much). The video, however, is a totally different story. The Integra provides a substantially better picture than the Denon. It's a bit tougher...
By far my favorite western and easily in my top ten movies of all time. For those who enjoyed Val Kilmer in this, check out The Salton Sea. Totally different movie, but another great Kilmer performance.
Amen, Keith! I just picked up Norah's disc today at lunch...and already I'm scouring the web for tickets to her concert in Atlanta this month!!! Her voice, to me, is simply astonishing. In a different way than Krall, but astonishing nonetheless.
Well, I'm not so disappointed that I couldn't register...entered all of my info and sat there for 5 minutes until it timed out. Then, no option to try again without completely starting over. No thanks. I'll stick with Netflix, thank you very much.
The problem with lengthy ship/return times for Netflix is a thing of the past. That was when they only had 1 distribution center. I believe they now have either 5 or 6. I get my discs in 48 hours every time. And, like another guy said, it really hasn't decreased my dvd purchasing. But, I now...
Definately give Nexflix a try. Hell, it's free for two weeks! And, best of all...no late fees!!! btw - it sounds like you're a light renter. Go with their $13.95 light plan. You get two out at a time instead of three.
I tried using my Xbox for dvd's....once. Check out the latest DVD,ETC. magazine. They reviewed a very inexpensive Samsung and thought pretty highly of it. Also, keep an eye on the Hardware For Sale forum. There was a progressive scan Panasonic for $110 a few days ago. Good luck!
I must disagree with my fellow members on this one. I think this is a horrible idea. Bad enough that David Lambert costs me fifty to a hundred bucks a week....now I've got this to deal with. Like I need help spending money... Seriously, looking forward to the roundup! Thanks in advance for...
Congratulations on the move to FP!!! You'll definately want to watch every one of your DVD's over again. I've had my projector almost 6 months and I'm still going through my collection. Kudo's, too, for pointing out the positives of entry level projectors. Far too many people are far too...
Love the show and never miss an episode. Is has a permanent Season Pass on my Tivo (and, yes, Tivo will accomodate for early starts/late endings). Regarding the political viewpoints, a great deal of it I find utterly repugnant. But then again, I disagree with the chopping off of people's...
If you are considering LCD, check out the Panasonic AE100/200/300 line. I've got a 100 and absolutely LOVE it. The new AE200 is selling in Japan for around $1700. That leaves about the same amount to put into other equipment, screen, etc... Whatever you decide, front projection will change...
I just made 30ft component runs tonight! And they look great. I couldn't tell a difference between my home-made cables and the 12ft Monster Cables that they replaced. Along the same lines, is there any way to make a do-it-yourself optical audio (Toslink) cable? I need a 30 ft run from my...
WAHOO!!! Just picked up 13 titles. Can't even remember them all right now, but the following were included: Hunchback I and II Oliver and Company House of Villans Schoolhouse Rocks Air Bud The Rookie Winnie Pooh - 25th Snow Dogs Buzz Lightyear Thanks a million to the guy who...
I hit 'em up for another 9 titles today for $87: The Time Machine Men In Black Austin Powers Austin Powers II The Musketeer Mulholland Drive The One Jimmy Neutron Stuart Little (gotta get SOMETHING for the kids!!!) The stickers are tough to get off, but Goof Off works well. My...
Bought Monsters, Inc. at BestBuy. Told the cashier Kmart had it for $14.87 and she matched it without a question. And, for the guy who asked, the coupons are inside the shrink wrap on the back of the package. It's basically $50 off a new receiver, $40 off a speaker package, etc... ps. Thanks...
I pieced together a pretty good solution for less than $800. It's an AMD 1800+, Dragon+ motherboard, 100Gig drive, 256MG memory, Radeon AIW 7500. Now, I just need to make a decision on some DVD player software. Unfortunately, the two I've narrowed it down to won't let you download and try before...
Max - The native resolution of the AE100 is 858x484. Given that strange ratio, the only way to avoid scaling is to go Scaler or HTPC. I am in the process of finishing an HTPC for my AE100. Having only watched a few sample clips, I can already say that the improvement over my old non-progressive...
I would GLADLY pay a monthly premium for ESPN HD! DirecTV charges $12/mo for the HBO package...ESPN in HD would easily be worth that to most sports fans.
