From my experience, always if you can get them to send USPS/Canada post and declare as a gift. I had a $2K US amp shipped to me and I paid $150CAN, alot less than I was thinking and I even had items pass through without paying anything. They aren't the fastest but could save you a few $$$$. UPS...
They will only be shipping in maple this year with the other finishes to be out sometime next year. The cherry finish is standard with b-eye maple, rosewood and high gloss black are premium finishes which will cost more.
I was driving my Paradigm 100s with a 3b sst for awhile without any problems. Your best bet is to contact Bryston tomorrow via phone or email, they're very prompt.
I'm from Ontario, but you'll be looking at about $2000 with the X30 crossover and about $1500 in laminate. I think that is list price so you should be able to do better.
I had the 2205 for a few months and all my cables have spades. Although it isn't the easiest, it is possible. I hooked them up the same way that they show you in the manual. Start from the bottom (rear channels) and work your way up. It's not that bad. Good luck
There sure is a way, buy Canadian products and there's a whole bunch of them that are excellent(Classe, Bryston, Anthem, Paradigm, PSB etc.) I thought Onecall shipped to Canada.A buddy of mine had them ship out an HK 520 to Toronto about 5 months ago. Good luck.
I would talk to Mike, at $2100 a pair for veneer...what a bargain.I paid $2300 plus tax for mine in rosenut.Any prices on the studio 20's in rosenut veneer, Mike?
I have a HK 8000 for sale in totally mint condition without any scratches, dents, blemishes, and functions flawlessly.I bought it from an authorised dealer in the US and still have the bill of sale.
To many features to list but check out www.harmankardon.com for more info.
Asking $1200 or...
It all depends on the speakers and/or source equipment.$3500 would buy you a nice 6B SST, or comparable 2 channel amp. That's what I would do, you can always find yourself a good surround multi-channel amp for your surrounds in the meantime but don't short yourself on your main amps. James
If you don't mind used.I have one for sale thats been lightly used.It was bought from an authorized dealer and I have the bill also. E-mail me if interested.
Paul, I haven't tried it yet as I have had no time but today looks promising. I will be mating the SP1 with a Bryston 6B SST.But I won't have the HK at the same time.It has to go to help fund it.I have a buyer(maybe) but if it falls through, I will let you know how it compares.
Hello everyone, Just have one question for you. I just bought a Bryston SP1 but I won't have my amp until the end of the month. Was wondering if I could hook it up to my HK 8000, just to make sure everything is working properly. I'm not too worried because of the warranty but I still...
Bob, Was that $400-500US or CDN? If it's US you can find a used Bryston in that range.Maybe you could use this to power your mains. I have the HK 8000 and i'm not sure if the amps in the 520 are assignable like in the 8000. What kind of speakers do you have?
Blair,
How much $$$ do you want to spend?
I have the studio 100's and am probably going with Bryston.
Classe also make good amps. They're both a bit pricey for me anyway, so i'll be looking for used amps.
Check out this site, they usually have Bryston amps for sale every week and it is...
Justin, I was at my local dealer here in Canada. He said to me that they won't be coming out with a v3 for the Studio line. He said that they will be coming out with a new higher end line of speakers instead. I'll be going back in a couple weeks, so i'll see if there is anything new to...
Steve, I also live in Canada.I bought the HK 8000 from J&R in NY.They are an authorized dealer and it cost me $1836US shipped. You also have to pay taxes and a small fee(because it was not made in Canada or the US) when it crosses the border. It amounted to $500CAN.Still a great savings...
I have an HK also and was out this past weekend looking at amps.
I have narrowed my choice down to Bryston and Classe. To me the Bryston is not warm or bright for that matter. But the Classe on the other hand was definately a warm sounding amp.
Depends how much money you have. But put the...
