    Superman Returns Sequel discussion thread

The main thing the next Superman movie needs a new villain. I thought that Kevin Spacey did a fine job as Lex Luthor but it's time for a villain that could actually defeat Superman, Darkseid maybe?

*** Official RESCUE DAWN Discussion Thread

I haven't seen the film but this website http://www.rescuedawnthetruth.com/ has been put up by the families of the survivors. Apparently, there are several inaccuracies in the movie that they point them out and tell what really happened.

Is the documentary On the Edge of Blade Runner not going to be included in any of these versions?

*** Official STAR WARS Saga (episodes I to VI) Discussion Thread: Part 4

Agreed! Getting back to the topic of the special edition anniversary I will say that it was a great time to be a Star Wars fan. Shadows of the Empire had warmed everyone up in the fall and the amount of merchandise and excitement generated by the Special Edition release set the tone for what was...

*** Official STAR WARS Saga (episodes I to VI) Discussion Thread: Part 4

This was partly the reason but the main reason was that Howard Stern's Private Parts came out March 7 and they were afraid of going up against the "King Of All Media." I still have the diagonal sticker they sent out to put on the ROTJ special edition poster advertising the new date.

P.W.S. Anderson on the Event Horizon SE

I gotta agree with Chad here. This would have been a perfect initial HD release. I have the old dvd and was all set to get this new one but the prospect of buying this again in HD in a few years has made me decide to wait. This and the new Mission Impossible disc are just too close to the HD...

Are there 10 titles that would make you cave in (re: HD)

I'll play this game. 10 titles in no particular order that would make me cave: The Rocketeer The Abyss The Relic Monster Squad The Phantom True Lies X-Files: Fight the Future The Crow Deep Rising Escape from LA Maybe a little bit of a pattern there but those 10 would really...

Anniversary tie-ins you expect and/or hope for in 2006

I believe Hamlet is scheduled for a 10th anniversary release in 2006 already. No kidding. I was a freshmen in college and it was insane how many people were going to see that every weekend after it came out. I saw it 3 different times with various friends because it was a really good movie...

Anniversary tie-ins you expect and/or hope for in 2006

I would love to see a 10th anniversary release of Scream with a new anamorphic transfer preferably with the director's cut of the film.

    The Frighteners: Director's Cut - 11-29-05

dvdanswers.com now has cover art and menu shots up. Forgive my ignorance but i thought that dvd-18 died off a few years ago. Anybody know why Universal is still using it?

    Favorite 8 Channel SDDS presentations?

I worked at a theater with an 8 channel SDDS screen and was never that impressed by it. The SR-D(Dolby Digital) and DTS houses sounded far better every time. I know this because we routinely ran multiple prints so I could go in and do comparisons on different scenes and the SDDS always sounded...

    The Frighteners: Director's Cut - 11-29-05

Here's a review that horrordvds.com did of the laserdisc set. Should answer questions as to what's been added as well as how extensive the supplements are.

    The Frighteners: Director's Cut - 11-29-05

OMG I can't believe that i'm actually reading this news. I had kind of given up hope that this would come out on dvd after Return of the King comes out but this makes perfect sense now seeing as how Peter Jackson had originally been working on King Kong following The Frighteners and this...

Pink Floyd said to reunite for Live 8....Really!

Couldn't agree more about how AWFUL the MTV/Vh1 coverage has been. Thank god for the internet coverage. Although the window is fairly small the audio is pretty good and you can select whichever feed you want to see. :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: The TV coverage in the US has been abysmal...

    Star Wars Expanded Universe Thread

Sam, couldn't agree more about the Williamson stuff. Classic Star Wars #7 got me buying comics again after a 3-4 year absence. Those Classic Star Wars books are well worth searching out to fans of the original trilogy. It's interesting that I just came across this thread because I've been...

The Ghost and the Darkness... when?

I've heard nothing about a new version but one extra that i'd love to see is the original teaser trailer showing Kilmer and Douglas stalking the lions through a very obvious sound stage.

    Erik the Viking

I'd sure like to see this come out. Last time I looked into it all I could find was a region 2 dvd that was pan and scan if I remember but that was a few years back. It's a really underrated comedy with a few monty python alum in it.

Veronica Mars season 1 (ongoing thread)

Pretty good episode from what i saw of it. Unfortunately my local affiliate had some kind of problem where the picture dropped out completely for a few minutes and then for the entire segment after the third commercial break. I am so clueless now as to who the murderer is. All these red herring...

    Project Greenlight: Season Three (merged)

This got sure me excited about this movie. I couldn't believe it when I saw him. I was like "Is was that Henry Rollins?". The problem that Gulager is showing in these first episodes is that he is way too inflexible about casting and his wanting to cast most of his friends and family is just...

AMC Theaters: Concave-screen and which sound format?

Gonna have to disagree with you there. I worked in a theater that had all 3 sound formats (DTS, Dolby SRD, and SDDS). DTS and Dolby were very close with DTS just slightly edging out Dolby but SDDS was front loaded and lacked bass compared to the other two.

    Cell Phone Jammers invade theaters..

As a former theater employee let me just say that this technology should have been here years ago. It is ridiculous how many people are taking phone calls during movies. I don't know how many times I had to go into auditoriums to tell somebody to shut up only to discover that they weren't having...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Star Trek: First Contact - Special Collector's Edition (Recommended)

Re: The Millennium Flacon I remember reading about this back when Episode 1 came out when the Star Wars Insider was talking to John Knoll about hidden ships in Episode 1 and he mentioned the Falcon being in First Contact. I found it years ago by zooming the dvd on my PC but it's so tiny that...

Starchaser: The Legend of Orin - 6/21/05

Unfortunately I don't think that it will. A few months back I read on avsforum that it aired on showtime in High Def and the thread over there was asking the same question about an eventual dvd release.
