I had the same problem with my Cerwin Vega woofer. If you are using a one-way woofer cable, you might have the cable plugged in backwards. If that is not the problem, there might be too much power going into the plug and therefore you are having grounding issues. Look into those. Hope that this...

Last night, I went to Best Buy where I bought it and one of the sales guy was telling me that the sub has an automatic shutoff feature when it detects no bass or barely any and shuts off to save power. Thanks for your help.;)
