    X1 projector at BestBuy!!!

Jerry, Yeah, it did seem a bit screwy having to sign up for a card, but I didn't want to argue since I had read about some stores not allowing the coupons to be used to buy the X1. I'm just going to cancel the card in a few months before I have to pay any interest. :)

    X1 projector at BestBuy!!!

Not that it matters at this point, but the store I was at did insist that to use the coupons required charging the purchase on the Best Buy card. They said that the coupons are sent to people who have the card. (now that I think about it, I don't think the guy who I got the coupon from had a BB...

    X1 projector at BestBuy!!!

Cross posting this in case anyone needs to know... I was able to get the 10% discount without a coupon by signing up for a Best Buy credit card. They said that you get 10% the entire first purchase made with the card! Not sure if this was just the BB I went to, but it sounded like a general...

Anyone need a Besy Buy 10% off coupon?

I was able to get the 10% discount without a coupon by signing up for a Best Buy credit card. They said that you get 10% the entire first purchase made with the card! Not sure if this was just the BB I went to, but it sounded like a general policy. In fact, they said the 10% coupon was only...

    Infocus X1 now $999 plus a $100 rebate till May 31st

Oren asked: >> OK. I saw on the Parkland site that there is NRP and Poly-wall. Which did you use? (I didn't see any discussion on avs about that.) It's the Poly-Wall. If you call Parkland ask for Nicole and tell her you're ordering it for Home Theater. Also there are many discussions on...

    Region Encoding on Criterion DVDs

I found a criterion collection DVD of John Woo's Hard Boiled (out of print) for sale, but the seller doesn't know the region. Are criterion DVDs all "Region 1", or "All Region", or can they be from any region? This is the DVD: http://www.criterionco.com/asp/release.asp?id=9 Thanks for...

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

Joseph, You might want to post a new thread or search in the hardware section. I don't know much about DVD players that are out there right now.

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

I'm sure no matter what I buy, 6 months later I could get something better for less money. There's also always something better for "just a little more" money right now, but you have to draw the line somewhere. It's just the nature of technology. I'm having a lot of fun with my setup right...

    Replacent for the ONKYO SR600

I'm also happy with my Onkyo. I have large front speakers (old Infinitys with 10" woofer) along with typical rears and center. More than enough power for me in my 13' x 22' room. For $399, I think it's a good deal; the Denon 2802 certainly may be better, but it's also substantially more money. I...

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

elMalloc, Have you looked into the BIC speakers? Read about the DV62si (bookshelf), DV62CLR (center -- can also be used as left/right), and DV736 (towers). Much less than $900, and VERY high ratings on www.audioreview.com. One thing though, as you'll read, there's a guy who modifies the...

What is a good set of front and center speakers?

Brook, Have you considered BIC speakers? Check out the DV62CLR and DV62SI on www.audioreview.com. http://www.audioreview.com/Center,Ch...3_2743crx.aspx http://www.audioreview.com/PRD_124289_4290crx.aspx I bought the speakers from http://store.yahoo.com/jvc-wholesale/ and had the...

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

Norman, I'm not trying to provoke you or make you mad. I know you had a very bad experience. I'm just sharing Onkyo's response to hear people's reactions and inform them about Onkyo's "position" on this matter. I understand your perspective as well. I think I've decided to keep mine. My...

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

For what it's worth, I'm posting a reply I got from Onkyo today after sending them an email a few weeks ago. (Actually they had already given me one reply, which I posted here about two weeks ago). Hope it's helpful to some of you. -Brian ===================================== Hello Brian...

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

Thanks for the receipt Norman! I'm going to try to get a couple DVD's if CC will give me back the difference of $430 - $399. I'm sure you have better things to do than fax your receipt all over the country - so I commend you for your helpfulness. Best regards!

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

He's talking about the Denon 2802. Unfortunately it costs much more than the SR600 -- you can get it online for around $550 but that's from an unauthorized dealer which supposedly voids the warranty. There is a long discussion on this if you look back through this thread.

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

So has anyone who already bought the 600 gone back to CC and gotten a refund for the amount paid above $399? I'm surprised they would do this kind of price match from any CC. But if they do, maybe I should get a copy of that receipt too, since I paid $430.99.

Onkyo TX-SR600: First Impressions [and Comparison to the 595]

Rob, Got any pics of your setup? Sounds like a simliar room to mine: 22' by 12' with a couple of "bumpouts" like you mentioned. I'm still setting up my equipment, including my SR600.
