When I compared the Elite next to the Sony, both 58 -60'' I could see more detail in the Sony, the Elite did have some blur in the real fine detail. BUT, the colors on the Elite where exceptional, the Elite was definitely more vibrant and smooth like wet paint. The Sony was like an LCD or looked...
yea, where did the dealer hear them at to say they are less bright. You said he is currently breaking in his first set.
I mean a statement like 'definitely less bright than the 805s, having more air, extension and more 3d'ness. ' on speakers with only a couple hours on them???
Sounds like a...
I agree with the people who say you need the room. I have the 802's in a 15 X 15, plus the kitchen(kind of the same room if you know what I mean) My speakers face the kitchen so eventhough my sofa is in a 15 X 15 room I can go back into the kitchen and be 30 feet away. My point here is that I...
Let's face it, before about 6 months ago nobody new anything about auto calibration (this is in reference to the common joe, me). I mean home theater has been around for 10 years or more and millions of owners have gotten by. If Pioneer didn't come out with MCACC, I would have bought a...
N802's N805's, HTM1. Opinions on what would work best. The first options is get the CAV-180 5 ch amp. The second option is the CAV-75 for the center and surrounds (bridged for 150W each) and then something like CA-201 or 301 for the mains. Then I need to decide which pre/pro. The...
I would guess that the Pioneer Elite HDTV's will have some sort of digital input. I've been waiting for this. I can't imagine they would upgrade the receiver and DVD player and not give the HDTV a digital link. any thoughts?
Why on earth would B&W go through the trouble and expense of creating those bi-wire inputs if it doesn't make any difference? I'm bi-wiring, just in case.
I wouldn't buy either one. If I bought the better sounding ones, I would wish they where better looking, if I bought the better looking ones, I would always be critical of the sound. My suggestion is to keep looking, you haven't found your speaker yet.;)
My dealer only has the light cherry. I've seen the pictures on the b&w web site, but I would mind seeing them in a real world environment. Possible some side views.
thanks in advance.
I am trying to make the same decisions. I agree with Andrew. But here is the dilemma, if I buy this sweet 3K Bryston amp, what am I going to feed it? A $2500 49TX, a $3000 5803, a 3k - 4K pre/pro, a $1000 or less receiver, or a $1000 or less pre/pro.
this is my opinion so far, anything...
Great discussion about amps. I'm trying to do this right the first time, so I am reading all the receiver/separates threads. So I don't know enough to flame either one. With that disclaimer. I am totally with everyone on the separate amp concept, so my research has turned to the pre/pro, a...
As the title says. Looking for a little education. I see all the treads about separates and receivers, being a novice I would lean toward a receiver, but I would like to find out about separates so I can make a good decision.
Ok, we have amps, I know this one.
What about A/V Preamp...
I don't get why manufacturers will not warranty internet sales. I mean if it's a Denon 5803, then that's what it is, is Denon claiming they did not build it? It must have come from their factory. Are there other companies building Denon 5803's. I don't thing so.
Second, how are these...
I am in the same position. B&K or Pioneer or Denon. I think the B&K sounds better, but they must be behind the times or something. Pioneer, Denon and Yamaha ALL have new models with the latest and greatest. B&K doesn;t. Plus it is hard to get a good discount on the B&K. So, for me, I have...
