My wife 'adjusted' the seating position after I installed the rears in the ceiling. They are now in the perfect position for an Atmos setup! Unfortunately getting clearance for a new receiver to take advantage has been challenging, which is why I'd love to replace my current Onkyo with this one.
The dialogue coming out of the speakers is not synced with what is on the screen. I have tried playing with the "distance" setting on the receiver, but it doesn't seem to match. The receiver is a Denon 1905. Is there another setting that I should be adjusting?
Thanks for the resopnse. Actually, it was hot-glued to a board and I used a hot knife to melt the glue and pull it off. 90 views and no one telling me I'm going to die. I'll take that as a positive sign.
The plastic exterior coating of a capacitor melted when I was removing it from a board, exposing the metal interior casing. Will this compromise its performance or safety?
These are for my dad who is not an audiophile by any means, which is why I was keeping the $ low. So, should I just go with GR Reseach and tell him he's just going to have to live with good speakers, whether he likes it or not or are there other options for less money?
Now that SCH appears to exist no longer who is the budget speaker king? My budget is around $350 for mains and center. Who would you recommend for a 70/30 HT to music ratio?
I don't really see any downsides to your idea. You may want to consider mounting the port on the outer box, thru both walls, and into the enclosure to maximize breathing.
I find that the guys at Lowes will go out of their way to be helpful. After waiting around HD for 25 min for help I left and went to Lowes. There, the guy actually seemed happy to load twenty-four 80 lb. bags of concrete for me.
The first time I saw it in the theater, they must have had the bass cranked up. The mines absolutely shook the room. The second time...not so much. The animation is AMAZING. The particulate matter in the ocean was nice, but they absolutely nailed the surface of the water.
Make a bowl shape with it, pour a little water in, and voila, if the water leaks through it's open-cell. B,B & B has it, as well as some camping stores, but I think they charge a premium for the bearproof stuff.
