Hello,
I have a Paradigm PDR-8 (yeah I know, a weakling but I cannot have the house shaking because I live in an attached house and neighbors will complain) subwoofer and noticed that it makes a "pop" sound everytime I turn it off. It will make that sound regardless of the position of the...
I have read that bi-wiring only makes sense if both the speakers and amplifier has two sets of terminals (or posts) per channel. I have Paradigm Studio 60s and a Denon 3802. While the Paradigm Studio 60s have two sets of posts in the back for bi-wiring, the Denon does not and I was wondering if...
I have a pair of Paradigm Atoms as my surrounds and a set of Sanus 300 stands. All I have to do is figure out a way to secure the speakers onto the stands so they don't slip or get bumped off or something like that. I don't think anyone drills holes into their speakers so do you guys use velcro...
Hello,
As of now I am running my setup with el cheapo 16 gauge copper-silver (looks like it.. plated?) speaker wire. Got it from my dealer for free and my system still sounds great. I can't imagine it sounding much better but I guess it's worth a try :).
What I am looking at is Home Depot...
Hello,
I have been wondering but other than the obvious convenience that these things (sorry, I am a newbie and do not know the proper term) provide, is there any advantages to them? I have read about oxidation occuring on the surface of these connectors causing them to "wear out" as well...
Alright here I go...
As some of you guys mentioned, I tried adjusting the placement of the speakers; a few inches closer to the wall and a bit further apart while I still had the Yamaha 630. There was a bit better bass response but I was not satisfied with the sound. Before anyone starts...
Yep, I am definitely going to get a cd/dvd player, about $300 to $400 for that, but I thought that I might as well get a better amp while I'm at the store.
Lets see...
I am using the new Yamaha RX630 and paid $400 for it. I believe I can return it (only been 4 days since I bought it).
I have left the jumper plate alone in the back.
As for the B&W 604s, they were driven by I think Rotel/Arcam stuff. The dealer said $1000 for the amp, $1000...
I purposely bought the Paradigm Studio 60s because they were floorstanders and hoped that it would produce enough bass so that I would not have to buy a killer sub. I live in an attached house and so I have to be careful else the neighbors come knocking. Well, I have played various music on it...
Hello,
I have just bought a Yamaha RX630 and have hooked it up to my Paradigms. From the website, I have gathered that the Paradigm Studio 60s, CC, and atoms are all "compatible with 8 ohms". Right... I have usually seen manufacturers directly state 8 ohms or 6 ohms but I am not too happy with...
For the Yamaha RX630... does anyone know if the remote is a programmable macro remote? I have heard compaints about the Denon's remote and that the Onyko 595's was great but am interested in the Yamaha as well.
Hello there,
I am looking for a budget receiver and the Yamaha RX630, Onkyo 600, and Denon 1802 came into view after a bit of research. Which to choose? I am planning (not sure yet) to drive a pair of Paradigm Monitor 9s, cc270 or 370, and probably atoms for the rears. Is it a crime to use...
How does B&W's DM604 S3 compare to the Paradigm Monitor 9s? Am I comparing two different level products here?
I have listened to both but cannot come to a conclusion because the store locations were a bit apart (an hour) and different equiptment was used to drive em.
The B&W dealer used...
Hello, this is my first post after lurking around a bit :).
I am thinking about buying a home system and am currently looking at the Diva Swans 4.1, C3, and 2.1 sale combo. However, I have trouble finding the right (rather, best) receiver for around $500. Btw, am I doing these speakers a...
