If I understand your problem, what you need to do is hit stop (when you hit play later, it will resume from where you stopped), THEN change the aspect ratio. It will not remember the 16:9 setting unless you eject the DVD before powering down. Odd but true.
Another quick question -- what's the useable viewing angles on this set (horizontal and vertical)? I'll be sitting about 7' away as well, and was wondering how far off-center chairs could be and still get a decent picture, and if someone sitting on the floor at about 7' would see a decent...
I got Avia (the full version) from DVDPlanet and it included the filters. I would be surprised if anyone took them out; they're hardly expensive-looking items!
My understanding is that if a receiver has a "Phono" input, it will have a built-in pre-amp for that input, which is necessary for a turntable. You can use a receiver without one, but you need to supply your own external preamp. I've been told in the past that you can get an inexpensive one (I...
Has anyone out there tried the trick on an AV-32260 or an equivalent 32" JVC? The setttings that are posted at JVC Calibration are for a 36" and do not work for my 32". Granted, I could determine the right settings with a lot of trial and error, but if anyone has already done this and I can...

I currently have a mediocre Zenith 27" (don't know the model number), but I'm getting a JVC AV-32260 this weekend. I sometimes run the audio straight from the TV (mostly when my kids are watching their tapes; I DON'T need Barney in Surround), but mostly from the A/V receiver (Onkyo 595)...
If I have my (non-digital) cable connected to my (VHS) VCR, do I gain any advantage by using composite video to connect the VCR to the TV, as opposed to another coax to the TV's RF input?
