Need receiver that will accept an equalizer.....which one?

As much as I'm ready to upgrade my old Technics SA-DX950, it does have one thing that I like, and that's a tape monitor loop to accept my equalizer. What other receivers out there will do this? I would like to purchase the Pioneer 1014 or 1015.....will these do what I want? Thanks. Steve

How can I lower the signal going to my subs?

Built a couple small Dayton 4 ohm 8" subs in a sealed cabinet. Powering them with my Yamaha M-80 amp :D . Getting the signal for the subs using my yamaha DSP-E492 processor. Here's the problem. I believe the processor has a cutoff of around 200 HZ. The subs are getting too much "higher"...

    Very quiet cooling fans??

Is there such a thing? I want to see if I can keep my Technics SA-810 receiver running (I'm using it as a sub amp driving two Dayton 8" woofers) by keeping it cool. Are there any fans out there that will work for this? I don't want a fan that is equivalent to the fan in my computer.....high...

Done with my mini-sub project!! Pics!!!!!!!!!

Finally finished my remaining Dayton 8" Sub project. 3/4" MDF with cherry vinyl. Second sub veneer job came out better since I didn't "wrap" the vinyl, but used the razor knife to cut the individual sides. I think it came out better than the first one that I "wrapped". Corners aren't "tight" on...

Basic used amp capable of pushing 4 ohms?

Looking for a basic, used, amp that can handle a 4 ohm load without overheating. I've got two Dayton (passive) 8" subwoofers, but the Technics SA-810 amp doesn't like the 4 ohm load. When pushing the receiver, it will overheat and shutdown. What's a cheap, decent amp that will doe the trick...

Oh yeah!!!!! 8" Dayton Parts Express sub finished!!!

Overall, pretty pleased with my first attempt at building a sub enclosure from scratch. Plans were simple using butt joints, glue, and nails. The reason I built this enclosure (and will be building an identical one here in the next couple days) was to get some experice before putting my 12"...

How to stuff my 3.0 cubic foot sub box?

Slowly but surely, making progress on my sub project. Bought everything thru parts express, the 3.0 cubic foot 1" thick MDF box, 250 watt plate amp, and 12" DVC Dayton. What do I do for "stuffing the box"? I have some 1.5 inch foam (which I also got from parts express) that I can line the...

Use older receiver for sub amp???

Can I do this? Is it possible? Thinking about building a small sealed enclosure with a relatively small (8 or 10 inch) woofer. Looking for something that borders on "punchy" or "mid-bass". For some reason, I've always liked that kind of sound!! :) I have an old Technics SA-810 receiver...

What type of paint to use on cabinet?

Hello: Decided I wanted to simply paint my cabinet for my sub. What type of paint should I use? Someone told me to use that black truck bed paint, but forgot to ask him if I roll it on or spray the paint on. Kind cold here in Michigan to spray it on (can't spray inside the house, but...

Music Hall MMF2.1 or Stanton STR8-80.....which one to get?

Which one is the better table? I believe the Stanton has digital outs which I find appealing (not exactly sure what to do with them.....make CD's out of your turntables?). Where are they made? Would assume the Stanton is made in China and the Music Hall somewhere over in Europe? All I...
