Where would I find out about upgrades to the Sony DA5ES?

Thanks Warren for the reply, I should have made myself clearer, sorry. I was looking for something similar to Denon's 5ch stereo. It takes a two channel signal and basically spreads it around to all 5 speakers, I guess without all added DSP effects. thanks, Rob

Where would I find out about upgrades to the Sony DA5ES?

Good luck Dan. I did contact Sony. I talked with tech support and with the parts people. Both tried to put me off on the other and both basically were trying to tell me that the DA5ES doesn't have any software in it. When I tried to explain that I'm sure it's a flash eprom upgrade, well...

Where would I find out about upgrades to the Sony DA5ES?

Hi all, hope you don't mind if I tack this on to this thread, since one of my questions about the DA5ES was about the software version. After being on the phone with Sony for about and hour, I knew I should have saved some time and just come here for some answers. I know they have a lot of...

    Best remote?

Mike, I'm sure you will get plenty of responses to this. Many people like the touch screens and the ability to update/change with the computer. I however, absolutely love my MX-500. MX-500 It's not touch screen but it is pretty amazing and takes the place of every remote I have. Rob

    C555ES first thoughts...

I would love to know your thoughts too, Keith. I'm using the L/R of the multichannel outs, mainly because I have an ICBM between the player and my receiver. Without the ICBM, I would have to go through the receiver with only the bass management of the 555, with isn't much as far as I can...

    C555ES first thoughts...

Hi, Hate to bring this up again, but hope some of the posters are still around. After reading this thread, it seems most are saying that the 2ch stereo outs sound better than the left/right outs of the multich outs. Why would this be? thanks, Rob

I just spoke with Ron Fone of Sherbourn

Kevin, as I understand it, the Sherbourn will have greater video bandwith. I think there are a couple of other minor differences, but I don't know. Fred, I'm pretty sure the price of the Outlaw is $899.00. Rob

I just spoke with Ron Fone of Sherbourn

If my understanding is correct, when I talked with Ron a couple of weeks ago, the Outlaw brand would roll out first, then the AT's, then the Sherbourns. Nothing was mentioned about how many each company would get before the next one received units. Rob

I just spoke with Ron Fone of Sherbourn

Fred, just wanted to say thanks for the lead on the 5/1500. It arrived yesterday and am getting it hooked up today. Steve was great to deal with. One note on the Sherbourn pre/pro. I was under the impression that the Sherbourn unit was going to have a little bit better specs on the...

Is it worth buying from a "Denon authorized dealer/on-line E-tailer"??

James, 6th Ave (Steve) sold me a 3802 for 800.00 plus shipping. They are an aurthorized dealer. In fact, I'm having a problem with the receiver and they are swapping it out next week for another one, no problems at all. Here's their website link. 6th Ave Website Hope this helps, Rob

Denon 3802 and Digital Cable TV

David, I have the same cable box, but I have the analog volume up all the way and it's still lower than the digital feed. It's not that much of a biggie unless I go from analog to digital and hit a DD movie station that has Cast Away on just as the container ship is passing by. :)

Denon 3802 and Digital Cable TV

Thanks Todd, Just tried that and you're right, the volume does only affect the analog, but it was already turned up to the max. Dang, thought that would solve it too.

Denon 3802 and Digital Cable TV

Hi all, Got a 3802 and set it up. Everything seems to be fine, except for a hiss, but I gotta do some more testing on that. I do have a question on digital cable hook up. I have my digital cable box hooked up to the Denon with the coaxial out to the coaxial in. I have the audio analog L/R...

    Denon 3802 for $864

Alexander, I'd have to look, but I think it was $27 or so for shipping. $37 more dollars to buy it locally, I would definitley go for it. Could be the start of a good relationship with you and the local dealer that could lead to other good purchases in the future. Also, if you do have a...

    Newbie amp usage question

Thanks Craig and Kevin. Do you have any other amps to recommend in the price range and quality of the Parasound? Sherbourn, ATI and Anthem come to mind. The problem I have is that I have nowhere locally to listen to these amps, so I neep all the input I can get. Thanks, Rob

    Newbie amp usage question

Hi, I have a Denon 3802 and am thinking about adding a Parasound stereo amp for the main speakers. I use the system for movies as well as music. I want to add the amp for music mainly and to also begin the move to separates. My question is do others who use a receiver for a front end use...
