    Athena Speakers

I got a excellent deal on some Athenas from a canadian dealer (I live in MN). They were blowing out some AS-F2's when I called and I scored 2 brand new pairs for $767US SHIPPED. I am running my Athenas with an Onkyo TX-DS595 receiver that puts out 75x5 and I get tons and tons of bass, even...

    Questions about 5.1 signal

Dolby 5.1 Dropouts on Pearl Harbor

Boy, that sucks. I like the DTS track, but often I prefer to use the DD so I can us elate night mode and re-eq. I haven't tried Pearl Harbor since I got my 595, guess I'll try it out.

Dolby 5.1 Dropouts on Pearl Harbor

Kevin Simon, I am just checking what you said about re-eq. I have the onkyo 595 and you CANNOT use re-eq with a DTS soundtrack, only DD.

Best DVDs for testing DD sound system

Saving Private Ryan has a ton of directional effects, The Phantom Menace, The Matrix. Definitely check out saving private ryan though (both the beach landing in the beginning and the tank battle towards the end). BTW, I just bought the same receiver and I love it!
