Not if it's a gas-fired infrared grill. Infrared grills have a flame temperature of 700+ °F., and unlike charcoal grills generally don't suffer from the "hot spot" problem that plagues charcoal grills at times. In fact, steakhouse restaurants often use infrared grills because they can cook...
I myself have been using a Samsung Galaxy S III (T-Mobile) for two months and totally love it, especially since I upgraded to Android 4.1.1 ("Jelly Bean"). I've been getting up to 15 megabits/second download speeds, way more than enough for the mobile-phone optimized web sites out there and I...
That's why between this debacle and NBC Sports President Dick Ebersol admitting NBC may lose US$200 million over the Winter Olympics coverage, we may be seeing the end of Zucker as NBC Universal President very soon.
Yes, Zucker may have survived programming debacles in the past, but in the...
But with the bad economy currently, the head honchos at GE may not be so forgiving this time around. With the Leno-O'Brien fiasco and the potential looming fiasco over the finances of the Winter Olympics coverage, this may give the excuse for GE management (and possibly Comcast management!) to...
This debacle will likely cost Jeff Zucker his job at NBC Universal.
And this on top of the persistent rumors that NBC may end up losing a huge amount of money over the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC.
Meanwhile, CBS' decision to keep as many of their scripted dramas as possible on...

I didn't know magpies were so aggressive against model airplanes!
Kaleido Star Complete Collection 10-disc set (51 TV episodes plus one OAV episode)
If you're an anime fan I highly recommend this series, probably one of the best TV anime series in the last ten years. It helps that the series director (Junichi Sato) is a highly-regarded anime director who did...
Remember all the complaints from last week about the new Yankees Stadium being an "bandbox" for lots of home runs? After the Yankees pitching got shelled by those Red Sox hitters in the last two games, maybe it's the Yankees' pitching that is the problem right now.
Ronald, Since the time you had a chance to get that Panasonic plasma display, I had a chance to see Samsung's new UN55B7000 LED-backlit LCD panel. All I can say is that the UN55B7000's picture quality was nothing short of astonishing, to say the least. It's the first time I've seen...
I'm listening to the album (I got it via the Amazon MP3 Download store) and it does sound quite good, especially on the new Sony MDR-EX90LP in-ear headphones I use with my 3G iPod nano.
Actually, I think the next frontier for home video will be projectors, since that's the easiest way to go to beyond 70" (diagonal) viewing sizes. Don't be surprised that we see Samsung start pushing 1080p DLP front projectors with high-intensity LED light source that would project a bright, high...
I know that there has been some talk about revising the overtime rule for NFL games during the playoffs. Here's my suggestion for making the rule better: 1) Both teams get to play a series of downs. 2) If first team scores and field goal and second team scores a field goal, game goes...
I'm not surprised there were no announcements of new iMacs and Mac Pros at Macworld. In my humble opinion, there are two good reasons for this: 1) Apple has settled into a April release month for their new desktop machines. 2) Apple has not yet gotten assurances of a steady supply of...
I think Samsung will still produce DLP rear-projection TV's but they will be 61" and bigger models using LED lamps and no mechanical color wheels. For 56" in smaller, they will be LCD panels, increasingly switched to LED backlighting (very necessary because California is threatening to impose a...
Thank you very much for the information! In that case, I'll keep my old Panasonic DVD-S35 and connect it to the LN37A450 via component cables. Hopefully, my large collection of anamorphic widescreen DVD's will look reasonably good on this TV in true widescreen mode.
I am right now in the market for a 37" (diagonal) HDTV LCD display to replace my 27" CRT TV. The model I'm thinking of getting is the Samsung LN37A450, since I don't have any immediate plans to connect a Blu-ray player to the TV. Here's the question: what should I use to connect a DVD player...
Actually, at least in my personal opinion, the threshold for where 1080p becomes useful is a 40" (diagonal) widescreen display. For anything larger, 1080p is definitely desirable, and for anything smaller, you can get by with a 720p display in most cases.
This album:
Downloaded through the Amazon MP3 download store (even got a US$5.00 discount for the download, too!). Sounds great on my home stereo (I burned a CD of the MP3 download using iTunes 8.0.2) and it's on the rotation of Christmas music I'm listening to along with my four Mannheim...
In fact, I'm spending WAY more time watching stuff on the cable channels nowadays. I watch a lot of ESPN, ESPN2, Discovery Channel, History Channel, CNN, Fox News Channel, and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). :emoji_thumbsup:
The Cavaliers are currently a team that seems to be overlooked given the records of the Lakers and Celtics. Mind you, I think the Lakers are going to get killed again in the NBA Finals if they have to face either the Celtics or the Cavaliers this time (assuming all players are healthy).
By the way, I did get the Klipsch speakers (they arrived today from Amazon--I didn't know FedEx did Saturday deliveries like this! ). I am impressed by these speakers. :emoji_thumbsup: They are amazingly small physically (they're not much bigger than most paperback novel books!), but...
Because I'm using my home computer to play back DVD's a lot nowadays, I am now in need of a new pair of computer speakers, since my old Labtec speakers are starting to die. :frowning: Right now, I'm down to two models: Klipsch Groove PM20 and Creative GigaWorks T20. (Note I'm not interested...
Here's what I want as soon as possible for the two daytime Thanksgiving day games: the AFC Champion versus the NFC runner-up in one game and the NFC Champion versus the AFC runner-up in the other game, using the teams that played in the conference championships from the previous season. That...
Bleck. That was a terrible game. This debacle is going to increase the clamor for the NFL to drop the Lions from the Thanksgiving Day game as early as next year, especially given how Commissioner Roger Goodell is much more accepting of "progress" in the NFL.
It will be very interesting to see how well Twilight does. If the movie is good, it will be Titanic all over again in terms of box office revenue on a weekly basis, only on a shorter time scale (remember, we are in the modern home video release age, so a lot of fans may wait for the DVD release).
I have an interesting question about the DMP-BD35--is it closely-related to the old Panasonic DVD-S35 DVD player in terms of a related drive mechanism? (I have the DVD-S35 and the only downside was the fact the player when it moves between menus makes a lot of noise. )
