Samsung 27" HDTV looks horrible! Help me out?!

Adam, My girlfriend just bought a 32" Samsung HDTV-ready set at Costco and she seems to be suffering the same grief you are going through. The picture looks horrible compared to my old 31" direct-view JVC set. She has yet to "tweak" it as others have suggested so she hasn't come to the point...

    Help...I need a cable guy!!!

Just wiggling the cable doesn't seem to cause the problem to alternate. I have to unconnect the cable and reconnect it for the snowy picture to go away.

    Help...I need a cable guy!!!

My cable reception suddenly turns "snowy" while I'm watching TV. It is much more pronounced in the lower number channels. I can fix the problem by undoing the connection from the wall and putting it back together...but it only works temporarily. The picture becomes "snowy" again. I noticed...

I know that I had to coerce my TV technician before he'd give me the procedure for accessing my JVC's service menu. Does anyone know the procedure for Samsung??

Poor picture on new 32" Samsung

My girlfriend just bought a new 32" direct view flatscreen HDTV-ready Samsung set at Costco. She hooked it up to digital cable and the picture seems quite grainy and "over-processed" compared to my JVC. Even DVD's seem grainier than normal. The picture just doesn't seem crisp and clear. Any...

    Newbie pip cabling problem...please help!

I just purchased a new Denon 2802 and Toshiba DVD player and am trying to set my system up properly. I have a single tuner JVC 31 inch TV with PIP. I rely on my Panasonic VCR as the second tuner for the PIP. My cable comes out of the wall to a splitter with one signal going to the TV and the...

Picture problem on my conventional TV...please help!

Thanks for the info...this forum is so great! It does sound like an overscan problem. The TV has a complicated menu of adjustments accessed via the remote and I have the ability to access them. Any idea what the code would be for overscan? Should I attempt this myself? Could I ruin my TV...

Denon 2802 vs. 1802: Better sound or just more features?

Thanks for all of your opinions. The reason I asked this question is that the stereo shop is trying to get me to buy the 2802 over the 1802 citing definite audible sound quality improvements and better build quality. They claim that Denon makes the 2802 at their factory in Japan but that the...

    Denon Receiver PLII questions.

I am considering purchasing a receiver with DPL II and am also interested in the tweakability of this mode compared to the old original version. Any other opinions?? Is the Denon version the most tweakable? Is Sanaka expecting too much sound from his surrounds? I'm sure these questions seem...

    Speaker hiss with Denon 3802

I have a Denon 2600 and have also noticed the exact same problem you are describing. In my case, the hiss is present even at 0 volume and with any type of input. It is always there... I'd be interested in possible sources/remedies. Someone mentioned a ground loop problem...what is that?

Denon 2802 vs. 1802: Better sound or just more features?

Does the 2802 actually sound a lot better than the 1802 or is the upgrade mostly for features? It will be powering Klipsch 5.5/1.5 with a 10" powered sub.

Opinions on Denon 1802 vs. HK 220

Thanks for all of the info. everyone. I had pretty much decided on the Denon 1802 and called Sound Pros to check on availability. Both salesmen that I've talked to can't believe that I would choose the 1802 over the HK 220 citing a more powerful amp and superior sound for the 220. They say...

Opinions on Denon 1802 vs. HK 220

I currently have a Denon AC-3 ready 2600 but it has developed some background noise (?cause) so I am looking to replace it with a less expensive receiver that has decoders. I have narrowed my choices down to the Denon 1802 and HK 220...any opinons? I will be using it 70% for TV/DVD and 30% for...
