New Sony Wega channel setup is wacked!

I ran the channel auto-program last night, and it did the 3 VHF channels fine. But the UHF channels now show up on the wrong channel! For instance, to view channel 33, I have to tune in to channel 68, and Fox 43 is found on 119. I have no cable or satellite - I watch strictly OTA broadcasts...

Paradigm AMS 250s with mini-monitor mains?

Hmmm...no replies. I guess either this is just a boring question or no one has any experience with these speakers. Okay - in the absence of any advice to the contrary, I will go with them, and I'll let you know how they do. :-)

Paradigm AMS 250s with mini-monitor mains?

Hi all. Well, my brother is in town and has offered to install some in-wall rear surrounds for me. I have mini-monitors for mains, and a Rava sub. I was planning on getting some Titans and putting them on stands, but in-wall speakers would be so much better. So I checked out the Paradigm...

    Adire Rava disappointment

You must have one huge room. I know the Rava is considered a somewhat musical sub, but I watched Harry Potter tonight with my son and his friend, and they were looking concerned when the windows rattled. Personally I would not care for any more bass than it provides, but that is just my...

    Adire Rava disappointment

I have a Rava - I run it with my mini-monitors - and music OR movies, it is a great addition to my system. I had a terrible time deciding what to buy, but I made the right choice.

    subwoofer advice needed

I have the Adire Rava - got it in March, and boy was it worth the wait. $399 plus shipping. I highly recommend it.

I just don't get the sub setup - help please?

I've done the search, I've read the primer, and I guess I just don't have the ears everyone else has. I have a Adire Rava sub (just hooked it up , thanks to ya'll for your help!) 2 mini-monitor mains, and an Onkyo 696 receiver. I set my mains to "small" as this forum suggests. The Rava manual...

No rears/center yet, can I listen to new sub?

I just got my new Rava, and I only have my two Mini-monitor mains. No rears yet, and no center channel. I have purchased the cable to hook up my sub, and I know exactly where it will sit, but will I be able to use it yet? Right now I listen to everything in 2-channel mode, and have set up my...

Has anyone ordered Darrin's Dance Grooves?

Well, I didn't order it, but my sister did. Her son wanted it for his birthday (he's 8). And I will confess, I'm looking forward to us getting together and making fools of our selves while watching that tape!:D

    Toshiba SD4700 vs JVC XV-SA75GD

Joseph - the review you linked to is for the XV-D723GD - it looks nothing like the model you said you are interested in, and I don't know if the two are similar. As for mine (the SV70BK, I plugged it in, hooked it up, and that's it. My TV is 13 years old, so I just let it run in smart mode...

Thought I had a sub picked out...

but darn it, my brother says I'm an idiot if I buy anything but a Velodyne. Budget is $500.00. Probably going to get Titans or mini-M's for my mains/rears. I had decided to go with the Adire Rava, but now I don't know. Maybe it would help if your folks would kindly answer a few questions for...

B&W taste on a Best Buy budget

Well, on the advice of my brother, and at least one or two of the posters on this board, I went and listened to Paradigm Titans. Holy smokes...I never would have guessed that a bookshelf could sound like that. Falls well within my price range too. I'm gonna start checking prices. Paradigm.com...

    Onkyo 696 - Video 1 and 2 out confusion.....

"I have #1 VCR hooked into Video 1 in and out. My cable TV hooked to video 2 in and another video recorder hooked to video 2 out. Nothing is coming through video 2 out." Try this... Leave your #1 VCR as is. Run your 2nd VCR into Video 2 in and outs. Your Cable/TV/satellite should be...

How much should I sell my old Onkyo 535 for?

It's in perfect condition, but I have my 696 now, so I gotta sell it. I haven't seen any listings for it online, so I'm hoping for a little guidance on a fair price. Thanks.

    Onkyo 696 - Video 1 and 2 out confusion.....

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I just got my 696 hooked up last week, so I'll try. Do you have sources for both V1 and V2? Mine is hooked up according to the diagrams, TV video/audio outputs to V1, and VCR to V2. It's working as it should. What exactly are you missing?

    Toshiba SD4700 vs JVC XV-SA75GD

Sorry - my post was cut off!! Here's ther rest... The only Toshiba I have owned is a TV, and it's been a great one. My brother owns a Toshiba DVD player (don't know the model, but it's a couple years old) and he loves it. I am sure you could not go wrong with either player, just figure out...

    Toshiba SD4700 vs JVC XV-SA75GD

I don't think it is anyone's intent to "brand trash". At least I hope not. My only response to you was that I do own the SA70BK, (from $250 to $300, depending on where you purchase it) and I am very pleased with it. Of course, it is my first DVD player, so I can't give you any other opinions...

    Toshiba SD4700 vs JVC XV-SA75GD

JohnF, Please post a link so I can check out that "eprom" problem you mentioned in your post. I have the SA70BK, and I have plenty of new DVDs, and I have had absolutely no problems, and no complaints whatsoever. I can't find any mention of this problem, so I would like to be enlightened...

B&W taste on a Best Buy budget

Bill, The $499 price for the 4.1 Divas was in an email I received from AV123.com I believe they are the only US distributor. I checked the website, and there is a sale flyer link, so it's probably in there. It does sound like an awfully good price if they are all they have been hyped to be...

    Toshiba SD4700 vs JVC XV-SA75GD

I just got the JVC XV-SA70BK - same model as yours but black. I am very happy with it. One reason I chose it is that it appears to have more MP-3 options than others in its price range. I chose for its features and reputation (I've not heard of any problems and I have always liked JVC)but it...

B&W taste on a Best Buy budget

I just hooked up my new Onkyo 696 and JVC SA90BK DVD player. Course I'm still listening to my 20 year old stereo Advents!! So I'm looking for new speakers for 5.1 sound, but need to keep it as low as possible. Just for kicks I listened to the B&W CNT's - wow. They are awesome, but they are...
