This is the sort of thing I am after although I need a single input to multiple switchable outputs. I think this would work though, given it is passive. Now to find one in Australia!
I have a front projector and also a HDTV both of which are capable of handling HD input signals. Unfortunately, many of my source devices such as DVD player and Digital TV Set Top Box only have one set of component outputs. I would love to send a HD signal to both the projector and HDTV. Does...
I have the 1066 and 1075 combo and am very pleased with them. I know the 1075 is smaller in power ouput than the 1095 but I wouldn't under estimate its abilities.
I have an opportunity to purchase a Sherwood tuner model TX5090. Does anyone have experience with this model and with Sherwood equipment in general? How does it go for reliability? Also, any other suggestions for a medium priced tuner?
Tony,
Good to hear from another Aussie!
I have a Black 1066 and am very happy with it. The bass management issue is not as big as everyone makes it out to be. Don't get me wrong, I would like it to be fixed though. I also was a Marantz dveotee and was convinced to buy into the new range. I...
Hanwook_K, Thanks for you input. I have just upgraded my amp and speakers. I am using a Sony DVP-S525 DVD player as my cd player and I think it is my weakest link. Mike_Ch, That sounds like a good idea. It might be worth a little investigation. Thanks John
Thanks Scott. Your reply is very comprehensive. I do consider myself an audiophile (to the extent that my budget allows :b ). It looks like I should audition SACD. I still prefer my music through 2 channels so it is either SACD or a high quality CD player. Thanks John
RodneyH, I believe min is actually very low. My sub triggers on even with the setting at low and the trigger is based on a sound signal. FWIW my mains go down to 40Hz. I have the crossover set at 80Hz and it seems to work fine in my system. Andrew, Thanks. We can only keep trying. At...
I am keen to upgrade my CD player. I am looking at the Rotel RCD-1070 however, am concerned about whether I should wait until the SACD Vs DVD Audio debate is settled. What do you think? Is the standard set to be defined soon? Does anyone know if one of these formats will truly replace CD...
I am currently running a Rotel RB 991 to my mains and an RMB 1075 for my surrounds. I have constucted a 12V trigger for the RB 991 that is triggered via the 12V output from the RMB 1075. This works fine for me. Unfortunately, when I listen to 2 ch music, both amps fire up but I am only really...
Andrew, Wouldn't my and others suggestion of giving us the option of setting the sub to off instead of min for each format solve the problem? I am not sure if this is possible via firmware but I would like to think it is. Thanks John
One quick way, if you haven't already done so, is to use a Y cable and connect the sub-output to both L and R inputs on the sub. This should give you +3 db. Effectively, all it does is double the input level going to the sub.
I own an RB991 which preceded the RB1080 and I am more than pleased with it. I also own the Rotel rmb1075 and it also is quite impressive. Rotel seem to have the formula right when it comes to amps. J
Guys,
I know how you feel. I had to wait for months for the 1066 to get to Aust. In the end, I picked up one of the first ones to hit our streets. The dealer had literally unpacked it that day to set it up for a demo for me. I had done my research and liked what I heard so I bought it on...
Daniel, You are right. I tried it again tonight and lost all my settings. It sounds like a bug to me. Andrew, Any news from Rotel? It looks like V1.43 still has the bug. John
I have a Yamaha YST-SW300 sub. It has a dial on the side with Music on one side and Movie on the other. If I adjust it all the way over to Movie I get more of a rumbling bass effect whereas if I set it to Music, the bass is tighter. Can anyone tell me how this works? I know that all subs...
