I have the 450. Works pretty well, although the user interface is a bit clunky and the remote is "slow". Takes a good 10 seconds for commands sent to actually "register" on screen. The digital audio is great. I love the caller ID. $79 at circuit city was money well spent.
I just bought 50' of 500 MCM teflon coated ,pure copper oxgen free, non ionized , Nasa approved cable. It was left over from the space shuttle program. What a bargain at $2500 a foot! I can really hear the difference! That C sharp in the second bar of Beethovens fifth(2nd cello)performed by the...
Must...stop...reading.Head...about to...IMPLODE!
:rolleyes:If YOU notice the difference in sound, then by all means...shell out the coin. If someone ELSE doesn't notice the difference, who cares? Golden ears? Oh brother. This is a hobby, correct? The time spent arguing on a MESSAGE BOARD could...
I was planning on going to digital cable....that is UNTIL I looked at the back of the box my catv company (comcast northwest NJ) was offering. Get This...the only audio hook up available was the component (analog RCA) jacks. Correct me if I'm wrong but....THAT IS NOT...I repeat NOT Digital!Maybe...
Unfortunately I've used up all the digital coax jacks on my receiver. I'm thinking about getting digital cable, but I don't want to run the Audio thru regular 2 channel Rca jacks.(kinda defeats the whole "digital" advantage). Does anyone know if there are Dig cable boxes with Toslink connections...
I'm going to buy one of them. Avia is 35$ , Sound and vision is 18$. I've heard good things about the Avia.Don't know much about Sound and Vision. Any opinions as to how they compare?
Thanks for the input everyone! Man that was fast!
>>>A RadioShack gold series 75 Ohm AV cable ($9) is a "Digital Coax" audio cable. You don't need to wait for one to come in.
I have my Toshiba 1700 DVD player "temporarily" hooked up to my receiver using the rca jacks labeled "analog out", until the Digital coax I ordered comes in. I've played several new title DVD's and all of them will only play in "pro logic". Is this because I'm using the analog jacks...
Hi Mark, I'm From Hackettstown NJ,small world. I ran the wire up behind my siding and mounted my AR speakers to a "lighting block" that mounts under the siding.I bring my speakers in before the first snow.
AHA! I figured out what was making that "buzzing sound"!
I had the TV plugged into a surge protecter,a REALLY old one! When I plugged it directly into the wall the set became quiet as a mouse. Must be some weird harmonics from the surge protector/power strip.
Man, the TV is UNWATCHABLE! I called PC Richards and they said they will swap it out with a new one. I'll give it one more try.If the new one makes that sound I'll buy the Toshiba AF61.
I plugged in my TV and was suprised to hear a distinctly audible "Hum" coming from the back of the TV. After letting it run for awhile the Hum diminished, but never fully disappeared. Anyone else experience this? Faulty set perhaps? I pressed mute and that had no effect on the "hum" so it's not a...
Thanks for the input guys. I didn't mean any offense by the "audiophile snob" statement. There are those out there that feel NOTHING sounds good unless it has a particular label on it. I'm just looking for some "bang for my buck".I'm in 2 expensive hobbies.Home theater and marine reef aquariums...
I'm setting up a home theater on a budget. I've read some posts and narrowed my choices down. I'm looking for good sound (movies AND music) on the EXTREMELY cheap.Speakers will be used for front.
I've narrowed the choices to:
1) JBL S-26 found 'em for 180$/pair
2) BIC DV-62SI found 'em...
