CBC (Canada) has the rights for future games. Some of you have chimed in that you prefer us Canadian's covering and CBC is our best broadcaster for sporting events:

Never thought my thread would generate such a great discussion, especially since my title was ass-backwards!!
That link to Xandria is excellent!! Ordering tomorrow.
The new Nightwish album, eh, not too good. I Want my Tears Back has a cool vibe but I'm not sold on the rest of the album.
I'm...
Unfortunately, I ordered from Germany. The North America release isn't until April, but I didn't see that when I was on Sirenia's website. I know...a lot of money...I'll never live it down.
Fortunately, this is Sirenia's best album so far. It's really that good. It's heavier than their...
Just picked up Sirenia's newest CD. Cost $80 plus $10 shipping. Ouch! Next time I must remember to read the fine print for the North America release.
Have not listened to it yet. Will do so tonight and give an update.
Did a bunch of listening to Sirenia over the weekend. All in all, it's pretty good. Some of their earlier work reminds me a lot of Tristania's World of Glass (that's good) and some of the stuff sounds like Therion's Secret of the Rune's (again, that's good).
Some of the songs are really...
Quick impressions as I didn't really get a good chance to listen to these new CDs as much I'd like to.
Sirenia - Nine Destinies and a Downfall - not bad. Some songs were okay and others were really good. I can't remember the songs off hand, but I'm sure I'll get into it more this weekend...
Package one just arrived from The Other's Laser Edge:
Sirenia - Nine Destinies and a Downfall
Sirenia - Sirenia Shores
Sirenia - An Elixer for Existence
Sirenia - At Sixes and Sevens
Can't listen to them at work and I won't get home until late tonight so my initial impressions will be...
My ignorance is blatantly exposed: Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire Best Director: Gus Van Sant for Milk Best Actor: Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler Best Actress: Angelina Jolie in Changeling Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight Best Supporting Actress: Penelope Cruz...
I agree, Ron. However, the new album was released as a two CD set. The second CD is all of the same songs, but done solely instrumental; no vocals whatsoever.
If you like the music, and I think you do, you'd be pretty impressed with the bonus CD. I know I am.

Two, Ron. The newer one is only the latest album. Bye Bye Beautiful on the newest album is a song directed to the former singer and is somewhat spiteful.
I ordered some of Sirenia's stuff off of this website. I'm impressed. Shipped the same day as I ordered.
What's not so impressive is that I ordered their newest album off of Germany's Nuclear Blast site. I failed to see that the album is due out in North America in April 2009, so I ended up...
Sirenia - any suggestions? I'm on their website and listening to "Path to Decay". Sounds good enough for me to purchase, but this is a new lead singer? If so, how does the previous singer stack up? Should I be looking at their past couple of albums, the whole catelogue, what do you think...
Hi Ron. Yes, I did order all of these off of Amazon. Most of my stuff I order from Amazon due to limited availability of the music I listen to at my local stores. Stuff like Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Nightwish, Siebengurgen, Trail of Tears, etc, etc.
That's Amazon.ca as I'm up here in...
Thanks for all the discussions. I don't have much to add as I've never listened to these bands before. Based on my experience with European metal (black, death, sypmphonic, etc), I've currently got these on order for blind purchases:
Within Temptation: The Heart of Everything; The Silent...
Taken from the tribute to brunettes thread.
Sounds like Dutch would be up my alley, but I have not listened to Dutch, Epica, Sirenia, or After Forever.
Currently listening to Amon Amarth (great band), Callenish Circle (too bad they broke up) and Sienbenburgen (their comeback album isn't...
If it was me, I'd take two of the SVS's over to your friend's place and hook them up. Disregarding the receiver part of the equation, that should pinpoint if it's an environment/setup problem (which it sounds like it is). Jason

I have yet to own a cell phone in my 33 years roaming this planet and I don't plan on getting one in the future either. I don't find that not having a cell phone hinders on my freedom or mobility.
Your priorities are the same as mine. I'm wearing a pair of Dockers with the "all motion comfort" feature. Black shoe, lace up. 1.5 years old and still looking good. Paid $120 Canadian at Shoe Warehouse.
..or Ipod, new shoes (shoes that are too expensive otherwise), some crazy bottle of wine that is more than $20, but less than $500 (maybe $300?), new 24" computer monitor, a nice piece of art for the home, a new light fixture for the home, multiple annual magazine subscriptions, personal...
Two backpacks for back country hikes, if you're into that kind of thing. If not, I still vote for the backpacks (the tent and other gear is another issue). Balloon trip. Parachute drop. Helicoptor scenic tour. All of it on black! (if you gamble)
I'm still waiting for Blaster Master by Sunsoft to be released. Anybody hear of any news as to the possibility of this ever happening? (edited for grammar!)
