I am not a video fanatic by any means. Could someone please explain to me the Geometry concerns that many of you have with the Flat TV's. I am currently deciding on which new reasonably priced 27" Flat I should get for my new apt. and on my post below several of you have mentioned geometry...
Thanks for the reply & thoughts Larry... One of my friends mention the same thing yesterday. Buy the Akai, but with a 3 year warranty and it's still cheaper than the Toshiba and still way below the Sonys. Any other thoughts or advice out there on a lazy summer Sunday? I'll check back this...
I am currently looking at several 27" flat TV's for my new apt. (I just separated from my wife). I was tempted to go with the Samsung clone (the Akai CFT2790), cause of what I have read here, but several people have tried to steer me away due to reliability concerns w/Samsung. The general...

I just purchased a JBL PB10 sub this week to be connected to my DD Yamaha Receiver via the LFE. Is a basic (Gold Series) A/V RCA cable OK for this connection, vs. buying (for example), a Monstor Cable Bass Sub-Cable supposedly made for Subs?
My connection may be as short as 6ft. or as long as...
I am into cars so I like this thread...
I currently own a '97 Acura CL 5-Speed

Thanks for the link John... Now I understand but I'll tell you 105db will blow you away so I'm still a little confused why that is called reference level.
Tom
I'm new here & I've read several times about reference output levels being at 105db. What does reference level
mean? I was guessing maybe it's the std. volume for Dolby Digital, but that seems too loud to me.
Thanks for any responses...

Hi Tom,
How would you rate the refurbished JBL-D112 to the PB10 or 12. Is the D112 an older model? I checked the JBL web-site & they do not mention the D112. It comes w/the same one-year warranty as the PB series according to the one-call web site.
Thanks,
Tom
Use them a lot especially w/older Music CD's & of course the radio. Usually turn the bass up & the treble down to remove background hiss. Also, all speakers are not 100% accurate & adjusting the tone controls corrects them slightly.
thanks for the comments everyone. Seems if I go with the JBL, I need to get a slab or something similiar underneath the sub. Makes me kinda think I should go with the front firing Sony, even though I was leaning towards the JBL.
Tough decision & I'm torn.
Tom
Bear w/me here as I'm almost brand-new here. I have a b2nd system in my finished 1/2 basement which is carpeted. I have a Yamaha HTR-5450 reciver. I just have to add a sub for true 5.1. I was going to go with either the JBL PB10 or the 10" Sony. I'm leaning towards the PB10, but I'm...
Jodie,
Form what retailer/Vendor can you get them for the same price? I thought the Sony was available for a lower price especially online.
Please advise & thanks.
