The guitar hero III version is indeed soooo much better. Much less clipping - I can' t even listen to the cd with my Grado headphones, there are clicks and pops every 2 seconds. This is good stuff guys. I didn't think so after the first few listens, but it is a grooooower for sure. It also...
I saw a video from them awhile back on headbangers ball and I made a mental note to check them out but I never got around to it. I did like that one song I heard. What bands would you compare them to?
It hurts to see my favorite character die, but you could tell it was coming. They were easing us into the idea that Omar's day's were numbered. I too loved how Omar knew more about Marlo's crew than the police did without the benifit of technology. I don't know how to use spoiler tags, so...
This season is starting to lose me. I want to like it, but I'm just losing interest. The constant use of "suspenseful" violin playing is getting very grating. Almost every scene has that music playing, and when all scenes are supposed to be suspensful pretty soon none of them are.
Type O Negative's new album really has impressed me. It didn't give me the best first impression, but I keep going back to it. I put it right up there with October Rust and Bloody Kisses. Pete really has written some great vocal melodies on quite a few of the songs on Dead Again.
No spoilers here, but I just finished watching the 4th episode on in demand. This is the first time I can ever remember jumping up and yelling at the tv during a show... this show is killing me (in a good way).
Whewww... episode 3 really kicks things into gear for this season. Don't get me wrong, I thought the first 2 episodes were great (come to think of it, I've liked every episode of all 5 seasons) but I've already watced episode 3 twice, and I'll probably watch it again. I'll be bummed when...
I just re-watched the 4th season on in demand, even better the second time around. I can't wait for the new season (starts a week from Sunday I believe).
John, Are there other artists/albums you would recommend? So far my only albums with female vocals are After Forever, Epica, The Gathering, Nightwish (only Oceanborn) and Tristania. Are there any dark Nightwish albums? Have you heard Within Temptation? Anything else I'm missing? To...
I saw After Forever mentioned. Their 1st album (Prison of Desire) is by far my favorite of theirs. It's darker than anything else they released and it has atmosphere galore. Floor's soprano voice is so beautiful contrasted with the growls and the last song on the album has an amazing Gladiator...
Wow, I loved it. The action scenes were far better than Bionic Woman where all they did was the close up camera shaking thing. I'm very impressed with this show, and a but suprised some here didn't like it.
The HBO show "The Wire" is a show that has not slipped at all. It is by far my favorite show of all time, and it has had 4 seasons. I would have to say that season 1 is my least favorite, (although I obviously loved it because it got me hooked). Seasons 2 and 4 were about equal and the standout...
I never really thought that Train of Thought was as heavy as everyone said, although I really did and do like it. I like this album a lot, although first impressions don't mean everything.
Wow. I'm only half way done with the album, but I can't help but give my first impressions. It is h-e-a-v-y. So much so, that I'm afraid a lot of you guys won't like it. I am absolutely loving what I am hearing so far. I'm finding myself turning the volume way louder than I usually do for a...
You would put it way down on the classic albums list? I don't get that at all. Even if you don't care for the music, how can you say that about an album that has significant radio airplay for the last 27 years on over half of it's songs and it's one of the highest selling albums of all time...
Yeah, and they picked the wrong Metallica album. I cringe when Kirk says, "It's our Dark Side of the Moon". I told my wife, "No, Dark Side of the Moon is Pink Floyd's Master of Puppets!" BTW, no offense to Floyd fans. I love Dark Side too.
Picking a favorite Dream Theater album is similar to picking a favorite Opeth album. It's Still Life.. wait no, it's Deliverance...no Blackwater Park... no it's definately Morningrise - for now. :)
Great news. I really don't care if it's dvd audio or not, because it's been my experience that the way 5.1 is recorded/produced has much more to do with how good it sounds than whether or not it's dvd-a or not. The newest Opeth album (Ghost Reveries) is 5.1 only and it sounds far better than...
As a Metallica fan, when I noticed that the Black Album was #14 and Master of Puppets was #75 it lets me know right off the bat that quality music took a back seat to the music that sold more albums. I assume that's the method used on most of the pics. Not that being popular is always bad...
Yeah, I never saw it in it's first season, so I wonder if it's improved a lot. All 3 kids are funny to me, and the wife isn't bad to look at. The dad grew on me and the rare times when he shows some heart works for me. I guess I don't analyze if a show is original or not. If that were the...
Wow, this show has either changed a lot or I have completely different taste from all the posters on this thread! I have been watching this show for the past few months and I think it's hilarious! The episode where Kenny the neighbor comes out of the closet was very funny. Am I crazy? Surely...
Man, how tall was Jack and Graham's mother? 4'2"??? That whole scene looked rediculous! I've been a fan of every season but this one has been really bad. In past seasons there have been plot lines that were either silly or uninteresting (remember the cougar?) but this year they are all that...
Marlo didn't see Bodie. They had a scene where the guy who saw Bodie told Marlo about it. I like how the head of homicide (don't know his name, big fat guy) is so far from the typical tv show. Sure he gets frustrated, especially at Freamon, but it's a controlled annoyance and I get the...
