Thanks anyways. Im not that strapped for cash. Although Im not much wiser after this thread either but I guess you just have to roll with the punches. I think Im going to pick up the cable when I make my BJC purhcase later this month. Thanks for the input guys.
Id go with the Mx-500. I just purchased it along with the Kameleon and tried them together. After 24 hours I couldn't stand the Kameleon any longer. It kept coming on when my sub fired, makes a humming hoise (albeit a very distinct one) and is not nearly as customizable as the 500 was. Plus the...
Ive read several places that, for the most part, optical quality won't make a difference in percieved quality. Of course the high end will be better than the 2 dollar cables. The question still remains about the digital cables, does quality matter among the mid and high end cables?
As far as I understand it, the concensus is that optical cables are pretty much going to get the same results no matter how expensive they are. Im wondering if its the same way for digital cables?
Ok got another one for you guys. Im trying to decide where to mount the rears. Here are my options: x=recliner l=side walls y=speaker - = back wall Option 1: Here the surrounds would be mounted about 2 feet behind and above the recliners on the side walls. l l l l l l l x x l...
Well since Im going to be putting the fronts on stands and the rears mounted to the wall, is it possible to get them both at the same level. I was under the impression that the rears were best mounted above the listening position, which would obviously make them uneven with the fronts.
Thanks for the replies guys and sorry for the lack of info. I have already purchased the recliners. They are fairly normal and don't have any headrests or high backs. I purchased them at Sams club. Pretty nice for the money. As far as the equipment goes I will be having the following...
I wasn't quite sure where to post this but since it involves tweaking my system I figured this was the best place. I've decided to go with 2 recliners for my small HT room and Im lost on the best way to set this thing up. The main problem is how to determine speaker location and settings when...
There is no way that Onkyo charges as much as HK. Not even close. Maybe if you got in on that one day OneCall special but that was rare and most people didn't even know about it. Plus, at least from what Ive heard, Onkyo hasn't had nearly as many QC problems as HK has. Again, just from what Ive...
Thank god for that. Im sure Ill screw something up and need some help. Its nice to know that I have a place to turn with good people for help. Thanks again.
Im definately planning on giving this one a try. I had always skipped this because its former releases usually conicided with the Tekken releases but its been getting some pretty good hype. Sounds like fun. What bestbuy coupon are you talking about?
How about Onkyo? The 601 is a great deal and shoponkyo has refurbished 600's. Onkyo gets hammered a lot because their products aren't too expensive but they are well built and have excellent feature sets. Not to mention that they sound pretty good too.
Im with that part but I thought one of the main benefits was being able to get the maximum resolution possible, ie 1080i, and not lose signal quality. I understand the same thinking would go for 480p as well but if you have the option to get the highest resolution, why not take it. I also...
Just purchased these and unfortunately their too short for my needs. The model # is 240-740. They are Tri-Tube fillable stands with floor spikes. I paid 46 shipped but Ill sell them for $35 shipped.
My bad, sorry about posting in the wrong thread. I was under the belief that 1080i was a higher quality than 480p. If Im able to get the highest possible quality, why not go for it? Will it degrade the quality?
Im in the same boat as you Jared and was wondering most of the same things. Mostly about the 720p though. My Mitsu 55"er doesn't do it and im wondering about all the games that have this, especially Soul Caliber 2. I will pass on this advice though, get the Advance AV pack and replace the...
Ive been reading through the manual it it specifically states that the TV doesn't do 720p. Im wondering if this will be a problem with either DVD's or Video Games. Ill be using the DVI hookup. Ive got another question maybe someone can answer. How do you know which resolution your DVD's are...
