How would I go about replacing my Hard Drive in my notebook?

Yep, Ghost can image over a network, parallel, USB and to CD. Maybe it hasn't been mentioned but Ghost runs from a DOS boot disk, so network is a bit tricky as you have to have the right drivers for your card. As it comes with over 100 network drivers that shouldn't be a problem. Dave

How would I go about replacing my Hard Drive in my notebook?

The easyest way to transfer the data from an old 2.5" drive to a new one is is with a PCMCIA adapter kit. See: http://www.bixnet.com/ezdattrankit.html I've used this type before and it beats all other ways. A question: Did you check to see if your computer can take a drive larger than 8 gig ...

    Formatting a hard drive

" In order to make a drive bootable you use the /S command with format. Can you or should you do this with anything other than the C: drive? " Sure you can. That way if your primary drive goes belly up, you can swap cables and boot, without having to hunt around for a bootable floppy. "What...

    Cable/DSL speed question

First, let's not confuse ethernet with Cable or DSL. For DSL there indeed exists a speed vs length issue: the further you are from the CO (Central Office - where your phone line ends at the switching center) the lower the maximum speed. With Cable, there is no length pratical issue of how...

Installing two new drives, and questions on ATA controller cards.

The Promise card is a nice one. I got one a few months ago and it made a big difference on my 7200 rpm drives. Install and setup was straight and clear in my PIII-750 BX W2K system. The card is backwards compatible to PIO-4 mode, so you can hang anything on it. In a pinch you can use regular...

Need help from a networking guru......

Have you tried waiting for 15 minutes after all 3 computers have booted up ? The reason being, is that for 'Workgroup' (non-domain) networks, the computers only send out identifing packets about every 12 minutes. So it can take a while for everyone to see all the others. So if you're changing...
