Same happens on my 2000 Chev Cavalier, been running with the light on for the last 10,000km, got tired of paying the dealer $50 to reset the light I admit to trying to stop the pump on ".00c", watching the cents run up to 70, 80 and 90, then BAM!, trying to get it in one try If I don't...
I have tried both Yahoo personals and Lavalife, found that Lavalife seems to have a better variety of women. I met the person I am dating at the moment through Lavalife, the first time I went to her house I was suprised to see a beautiful Sony Wega LCD HDTV in her living room, which she...
My first V-Day after splitting with my wife of 10 years, no big issues either way with the whole V-Day thing, but have laughed and laughed at some of the posts in this thread Almost enjoyed watching the throngs of desparate guys milling around the cards/candies/flowers in the local stores...
How about "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams, Anabella Sciorra, and Cuba Gooding Jr It doesn't get any more tragic than when all the main characters actually die
I bought a Mazda Protege sedan in 1994, I still have it with 315,000 km on the clock and drive it every day I have never had the engine or transmission opened, and in all these years I have only had to be towed once, when a driveshaft went Other than routine stuff (mufflers, brakes...
Ah yes, Airfix..... The "Series 1" models used to come in clear plastic bags with a cardboard "foldover" the top. Series 2 and up used to come in increasingly larger boxes.I think Series 7 was the biggest, that was mainly the large 4-engined WW2 bombers (Lancaster, Halifax, Stirling, B-17...
Lesson learned: Loaned my copy of "The Limey" to a friend of my wife, it came back TWO MONTHS later with holes in the keepcase and looking like it had been used for a coaster a la the "3 Months Free AOL" disks ..... Excuse? "My dog was playing with it"
Hey Evan, Don't feel dumb - I had a similar problem where I was receiving a radio signal when I connected the "audio out" of my VCR to my Kenwood receiver For some reason adjusting the tracking on my VCR fixed this, but at the expense of picture quality. Ended up by connecting VCR directly...
I'm 42 and remember using Log Tables back at school in the UK I think if you wanted to multiply two numbers together (not 2 or 6 , rather 2.3434 X 5.7643) BEFORE CALCULATORS WERE INVENTED, you looked up the "logs" of the two numbers, added them together then looked up the "antilog" of the sum...
I "manage" the fitness center where I work and we have used a Concept 2 rower for 8 years with no major problems in daily use (we have just replaced the seat rollers this year) Regards Steve
I'd buy it in a shot - another one would be "633 Squadron" (da da da da da da da-daaaa - come on now you know the words)
A squadron of De Havilland Mosquito fighter bombers try and destroy a German heavy water facility by bombing the mountain above it and causing a landslide - TOP STUFF!
I used to live in a small town in the UK called Kings Lynn, at the time (1985?)they filmed the real stinker of an American Civil war movie "Revolution" starring Al Pacino and Nastassia Kinski. The town has a lot of 17th and 18th century buildings, cobblestone streets etc, plus a small...
My son (7) and I will go - he loves the TV show, and has even written to the Irwins in Oz (and received a bunch of neat stuff in return). Sounds like a great way to waste a lazy summer afternoon, and anyone who names their daughter after his dog can't be all bad! Cheers! Steve
There are night-time shots of the WTC in Stuart Little, where his fake parents take him to the Mini-putt golf course
(Not sure if they are CGI or the real thing though....)
Well, well, well, England lost (and so did I, I had them to triumph in the $500 office pool), but I cannot dispute the result - Brazil deserved the win. Beckham dodges a tackle, three touches later and the ball is in the net, and then Ronaldhino's free kick, intended or not, was a thing of...
Here's my guesses (approximate value $0.02c CDN) Quarter-finals Germany 3 USA 1 Spain 4 Korea 2 Brazil 1 England 2 (Golden Goal in OT) Senegal 0 Turkey 1 Semi-Finals Germany 2 Spain 1 England 3 Turkey 0 Final (be still my trembling heart...) Germany 2 England 3 Anyone...
England 3 Denmark 0 HOLY CRAP!!!!! I feel pretty embarrassed doubting the boys now!:b Thankfully Michael Owen did his stuff, great defence by the back 4, hopefully the weeks rest will bring the squad back to full strength. If we can get through the next round who knows where will end...
Stayed up to watch England vs Nigeria, (2:30am - 4:30 am local time - the wife thinks I'm crazy), EN-GER-LAND played well enough not to lose, however as Paul D remarked it doesn't look too promising for Saturday against the Danes..... Enjoyed the Sweden/Argentina game much more, interesting...
The foot of Beckham defeats the "Hand of God" (my arse) COME ON ENGLAND, COME ON ENGLAND, COME ON ENGLAND etc etc etc I think I am going to have to drink a skinful of Boddington's tonight! (only because I cannot buy Sam Smith's or Theakston's in this god-forsaken country) Steve (Ex...
Chris, I buy used DVDs from Rogers regularly - only complaint I have is with the price sticker on the case, it is a pain to remove. Best thing I have found is a SMALL amount of paint thinner, then use something like Mr Clean to get rid off the smell None of the ones I have bought (10 so...
Greg,
A few comments on what looks like a great site..
On the Pricing page are they US$? Important to us Canadians!
Also a few minor typos on the "Info" page
Lense strippingLens striping may improve color consistency across the entire screen as after a standard calibration the color...
Rich,
I was in the middle of Christmas shopping so I am not sure but I think it was the digital model on special offer - guess I should have bought one - DOH!
Steve
John - Britain is beautiful, (though not particularly clean), even more so now I am living in Canada!
:)
Brian - Thanks for the clarification (I think!), a friend of mine in the Air Force was nick-named "Smeggy" for his lack of personal hygiene, great guy but EWWWWWW.
I can imagine the looks...
Dave,
I think it depends on the situation and the adjective preceding the slang,, for example calling someone a "silly sod" is not too bad, almost affectionate in the right context, similarly a "daft bugger" would not offend too many Brits
They are also used as "bugger off" = go away, and "sod...
