Just received the SACD from Amazon. Playing through Denon 2900 and I am not getting any sound through Center channel playing through the 5.1 analog input. Other multichannel discs (both SACD and DVD-A) play ok. Any ideas???
As far as I understand the Bass Enhancer only affects two channel output and according to the "white paper" regarding the set ups published on the Denon web site, it only affects the analog outputs. You might want to read the white paper as it addresses the multichannel Bass Management in detail...
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) It is finally here (MItsubishi 73713) and hooked up as of yesterday morning. Stunnig picture right "out of the box" with minor picture adjustments (brightness was at max). I also picked up the Denon 2900 in order to have progressive scanning and the...
Go down to Netflix two movies out at a time rate of $14.79 a month. You should be able to swing that and keep whatever cable configuration you are happy and comfortable with.
Robert - Thank you - (The Mitsubishi site does not show the location, only a detail picture of the in and outputs. Same with the users manual) Regards, Skip
My 73713 should be arriving this week. (Can't wait, I have my new Hughes HTL-HD and Denon 2900 already hooked up to my old system). I do need to get my cables and in order to determine the required length I need to know what side are the Mitsubishi rear inputs on? (Left or Right when facing the...
I experimented with the BM on the Denon 2900 as well after getting it a few weeks ago. Here is my solution that prodces great "correct" bass on SACD, DVD-A and movies. I use the Parasound Halo C2 pre-amp. 1) Connected the Denon via analog to C2 analog passthrough inputs (for multichannel...
Dick - The pricing is through a friend of mine who works for Mitsubishi. They have a program, where employees can get one TV per year for themselves, family or friends in order to "promote" the brand at very special pricing. In fact today the pricing was confirmed at $ 3780.60 for the 73713...
Dear Garrett, Thank you for your friendly and constructive comments! 1) There are many good qualities about the SONY LCD rear projection unit and while money is part of the equation, I did go through the decision process evaluating all the pros and cons. Your comment insults all of those...
It is final - I ordered the 73713. After comparing the Sony and the Mitsu side by side I had to go with the "better" picture. I also thought that the NTSC sugnal was way better with the Mitsu and let's face it - I will propably still watch a lot of non HD, non Digital material.
Yes - Color accuracy and decent to excellent black level are important (I know I can only get the blacks with the Mitsus). However, this is not a dealbreaker. Just a consideration. The money is always part of the equation, I can afford the componenets I need even if buying the Sony. Also...
Ok - Here were the three finalists on my list: Sony KDF-70XBR950 LCD Rear projection, Mitsubishi 65813 and Mitsubishi 73713. I do like the Sony, however, ultimately the picture quality is better with the Mitsus. I am still torn betwwen the two Mitsus, as I know the picture would be better...
I have had my Parasound Halo 2 for approximately two months now replacing Proceed PAV/PDSD combination. The Halo is a great performer and I am very pleased with it. Running Aragon 8008X3 and Adcom 555II (for rears) with Dunlavy SC-IV's, Dunlavy SC-I center, Klipch surrounds and Velodyne FSR-18...
Barret's Home Theater in Aurora Illinois (Chicago Burb) has the unit and I guess I will have to make the three hundred mile drive to check it out... I tried to see if there would be unit closer to Detroit but can't find one. Three hundred miles - four hours or so each way. I guess it is not too...
Jim - They still are a dealer, however, they do not have any on display. I also believe they have moved a few blocks to a much smaller showroom focusing more on custom installations than regular walk in traffic.
Thanks for your reply. I actually used to live in San Antonio and have a pile of receipts from Bjorns in my files (including the Pioneer Laser Disk player that is boxed in the basement). I can get the 82 incher directly from Mitsubishi through a connection for $12K even, which makes it a...
Hope fully in Midwest (I am in Detroit area) - if not I will travel to check it out in order to decide what to buy. Please let me know if you have seen this set in a store.
Cliff - I checked the distance and it actually is closer to 14 feet with a possibility of backing up another foot. What would you recommend as the minimum viewing distance for a 82 inch screen?
I have a friend who works with Mitsubishi and can get for me a TV below cost. I have been looking at the 70 inch SONY LCD rearprojection, however, these prices would be hard to pass by: WS-65813 $3,100 WS-73713 $3,840 WS-82913 $12,000 I am even seriously considering the 82 incher. I have...
Pricescan found two retailers selling the unit for $533.00. Just go to to check out the retailers and detailed information.

I currently have a ISF calibrated (by John Gannon) Sony 61XBR48 NTSC set which has a great picture. That is the reason why I am hesitant to "upgrade" at this point when HDTV programming still is quite limited. Of course the benefits are unquestionable with progressive DVD and with HDTV but I...
I am contemplating purchasing one of these two great units and like the HDTV quality on both. However, since a lot of my viewing will still be in NTSC, I am also very concerned about the poor NTSC quality of (all) the HD sets.
Which one of these two units do you feel does a better job with...
