I have this CPU, which seems to be the same ghz as the one in the link I provided... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103537 Yet the CPU I have cost 160 dollars on it's own. Can anybody explain? As you can tell, I am pretty useless when it comes to this stuff.
Spring 2007 is a LOOONG time to wait, IMO. I am sure the tech will advance and the prices will dive eventually, it's just a pity that I (probably) won't be watching any DVDs in HD in 2006...
The things that do it for me are: A: The price...is it ture that BD players will be 1,000 bucks? B: I have read that BD discs are thinner and have smallers divots, plus the laser must be bent into a 'cone' shape...all three making for MUCH more delicate discs, MUCH more subsceptiable to...
Many of us have only one HDMI port on our displays, but with HDTV, upconverting DVD players and even video game systems (X-Box 360, right?) using HDMI, we're at an impasse. So is there a HDMI hub or switching box out there that can be purchase? If not, is there one or more on the way?
I'd say use the HDMI for a TRUE HD source and not upscaling. The S-77 should look fine over component (though I have never tried it, IMO it doesn't look THAT differant on 480p via HDMI than 720p/1080i on HDMI). But do they make some kind of HDMI hub or switching box or something to rectify...
A little update/rant on my TV... Why can't these companies make newer TVs more like monitors, where you can adjust the screen size yourself? I have noticed what I would consider too much cropping on my Sony KV34HS420, though Avia only reads the overscan at around 5%. Still, when you use a DVD...
These look nice, and I want to buy them but I cannot find much on them. One review that says they are great. Anyone have any experiance with them? How do they hold up?
Rex took down my information and said a service rep will call me tomorrow to set up an appointment. So I guess they will be sending somebody to my house to look at it. Hopefully the person will be savvy enough to fix it.
I found a service menu (had to DL two programs to open it, becuase I refuse to have Office on this comp) but reliezed that I need a pro to do these geometry adjustments. I was just making it worse. I didn't save anything. I am going to go to the place I got it from and see if they can come...
Please help me. Google is not helping me! I got into the service menu, but I don't know what setting does what so I am not about to adjust anything. The geometry "bowing" is what's really killing me. I can't get my eyes off it. I paid 1500 bucks for this freaking TV and I want it to look...
I fixed the blue light problem by dimming the faceplate in the menu. I kind of like this player, so I am ping-ponging around. It's just SUCH of a PITA to deal with the remote problems.
I would have no idea how to do all that stuff, sadly. Does the TVGuide function still work? PS: The Afterdawn forums don't have a solution to this problem either. PPS: I should have done more research before buying this...:frowning:
Another perk that would be nice, but it's certainly not needed: Subtitle posistion and brightness adjustment. The S77 has this, it's one of the few perks of the unit.
I am pretty happy with this TV, but I have noticed some problems... Geometry issue. Straight lines and stuff are warped and bent towards the top of the screen. I think this is called pincusion? Black stuff, such as shirts, appear too black. You can't see any detail. Some objects (faces...
I am pretty sure I want to ditch my Panny S77. Not only does the remote to my Panny DVD with HDD conflict with this player, but there is this horribley bright blue strip light, kind of slow load times, no good zoom modes, and I can't skip menus/ads and FBI/Disclaimer crap. I should be able to...
Oh, I am attached to it alright. Other than the U99 error and the occasional "No Listings" problem...I love this thing! I want to marry it. Can you email or PM me that link? Never even heard of the "afterdawn" forums so I wouldn't know where to began searching. [email protected] thanks.
"U99" Error. I have gotten this three times now (missed an episode of Lost from it!), within a week of owning it. What can I do to stop it? Should I try and go through the hassle of taking it back to the store?
I got a Pioneer from Best Buy. Reliezed I need one with AV jacks so it could serve double-duty as a DVD player and monitor for my camcorder. It's a pretty cool unit, swiveling screen, plays jpgs and mpgs, DVD-Rs the whole shebang. Was only 130 bucks, and I got the extended warrenty.
The DVP-NS975V looks sweet, but a quick google search finds too many problems. Which only serves to anger me, because the whole "plays scratched discs" idea sounded really sweet, as did a lot of the other seemingly original features. The Panny S77 looks good. Most of the reviews I read were...
I've heard differant upscaling players perform differantly based on the TV, so what's a good player to get for the Sony KV34HS420? All I know is to get HDMI so I don't have to deal with DVI/HDMI conversion... Also, it would be nice to have a player that plays DVD-R/+Rs well and isn't picky...
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=T777-1020 I like the look/set-up of this. I do plan on using an editing program, so I guess it needs to output something that is capable. I am a real newbie, though. I logged a lot of time with Pinnacle 8 or 9 and a DV cam via FireWire (my roomie...
Yeah, I guess I am looking for 3-chippers because that seems to be a requirement for a good picture. I have used a Canon ZR60 and found that I was not impressed with it's picture at all...
The Panny is about 100 bucks more, but boasts a bigger HDD and I can buy it in a local store, whereas the Pioneer (which a friend of mine has and swears by) I would have to buy online. So I am leaning toward the Panny. My main concerns are how many programs you can set up to record (Like how...
