Nice to know I wasn't hallucinating! :) I'm wondering if the glitches/blue screens will start to get more obvious as we progress towards the end of the season.
It's a (very!) long time since I last posted here at HTF, but I have continued reading from time to time over the years, especially the TV forum. Anyway, I spotted something in the last episode of POI and felt compelled to share: Did anyone else notice some of the security camera feeds they use...
There is a guy on the IMDb forum for Event Horizon who has been claiming to be the DVD producer for the special edition. He seemed fairly legitimate, and these specs pretty much match up exactly with what he said would be on the disc. Unfortunately, he has also gone on record as saying that...
That's the one alright... I was just about to post that very same link. :) Anyway, his name is Lancelot Narayan, and he is a UK-based DVD producer. With the amount of detail in his posts, I would say I'm inclined to believe him - it would be far too elaborate and pointless to just be a hoax...
Well, there is a guy on the IMDb message board for Event Horizon who claims to be the DVD producer for the Special edition. His name is Lancelot something-or-other (can't remember his surname). I know you have to be cautious about anything you read on the IMDb, but the guy did have a valid link...
"Garfield's Feline Fantasies" was aired in 1990, and was nominated for an Emmy just like all the other specials. So it must have been on TV. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363630/ Of course, I saw them all in South Africa, so I have no idea about US TV scheduling. Even so, I always got the...
There's a 12th special, Garfield's Feline Fantasies. It also happens to be the best of the lot in my opinion. Luckily the theme of fantasies/imagination would fit quite well with the other two specials left to go...
This is really annoying - I really want to get this boxset now, but if I do it's unlikely that I'll ever be able to replace the first disc seeing as I'm in the UK. It would be alright if I knew someone who lived over in the States, but as far as I can remember I don't...
So where does this leave those of us in other countries who are intending to import the boxset? I want my episodes uncut but I'm sure that I won't be able to get the replacement disc sent all the way over to the UK. Does anyone know if there are any plans to release this boxset in R2?
I certainly enjoyed the first two films, and don't have much of a problem with Chris Columbus as a director, but Cuaron just managed to bring a freshness and style to Azkaban that clearly benefitted the film. As for which my favourite of the first 3 books is, I couldn't say right now (I'd...
Well, I in fact do not regard Azkaban as being the best book out of the first three, so the fact that Cuaron has turned it into my favourite of the three films is surely an indication of something...
I just got back from seeing this (it opened here in the UK at 9am this morning), and I can happily say that HP3 is by far the best of the series so far. It's amazing what a difference a good director has made. The script is very faithful to the book, and even though a lot was taken out I...
And there was me thinking that the region 1 version had no improvements over the Region 2 copy that I've owned for about two years now. I have to put up with a half-hearted stereo (not even surround) track for RoboCop 2 and 3 (not that it's much of an issue with 3, it's not like I'm going to...
I saw this last night, thankfully it was free entry for me... Van Helsing is terrible. Awful. A catastrophic waste of time and money. It makes the Mummy Returns look like a masterpiece (I actually enjoyed The Mummy Returns, but it clearly wasn't great). The film started off ok, and there...
I have the region 2 copy of the theatrical version, and I also noticed these blips, in pretty much the same scenes. The pitch correction was applied to try to account for the 4% PAL speed-up (which I never notice anyway), and unfortunately introduced sound artifacts in the process.
I'm disappointed that they aren't producing a complete set of the 11 TV specials - although by the looks of things they may have chosen the three that have the most resemblance to the film's plot and shoved them on an intermediate release before the proper one... well, that's what I'm hoping for...
After all the hype that The Passion of the Christ is building up, I'm going to raise my original prediction of $50m to $80m. This still isn't anywhere near as high as a lot of other predictions I've seen, but I just have this gut feeling that people are somehow over-estimating the hype. It will...
Phew, my full list of predictions: "50 First Dates" - $120m "The Alamo" - $60m "Alexander" - $95m "Alien vs. Predator" - $85m "Along Came Polly" - $65m (original)/$85m (revised) "Anchorman" - $80m "Around the World in 80 Days" - $85m "The Aviator" - $90m "Barbershop 2" - $45m...
Well, I guess it's time for me to look back and review my predictions from the start of the year:
I've written the figures in the order Prediction/Actual.
DareDevil: $120m/$102.5m - Not a bad prediction, if the film had better legs from its $40m start then this would probably have been...
I got the Canadian copy of the Quadrilogy on import, and the paper was indeed glued to the back of the box. Despite pulling it off carefully, a small bit of the holographic film was still peeled off of the box... I managed to clean the rest of the gunk off with one of those hand...
If this is true, then that's fantastic. Of course, looking at it for the moment the cover art and the whole article seem a bit amatuerish... I guess we'll have to wait and see if this is real. Here's hoping. :D
Well, as a life-long Garfield fan I was both highly anticipating and dreading this trailer, knowing that they seemed to be making a lot of bad decisions in the production. However, my first impressions were a lot better than I expected, and having watched the trailer many times over I am now...
