Mr. Burnett, I have to agree that Kevin Smith doesn't push the boundaries of cinema form or technologies. I do give him credit for have a dream of being a filmmaker and doing it. I wanted to be a filmmaker since I saw Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I know I could have picked a better movie but...
I didn't mean "never" literally...You are absolutely right about "seeing" the alien. Just like you said...at the end. My point is that once that happens...the surprise is gone and you have to go another direction. Aliens is not my favorite of the Alien movies...but it works.
I really think that a "new" Jaws movie would work...If done correctly. Anybody see a little movie called "Aliens"??? In the original "Alien" you didn't see the SHARK...I mean the ALIEN. In "Aliens" you know what the ALIENS look like...You just have to "Up The Risk"....
There's one thing that we are all forgetting... We have a choice! So many releases out there don't give you any option. I own both. I also own the Criterion Laserdisc. Out of all of them, my personal favorite is the Laserdisc. It may not be the right choice for everybody but I think the...
Great Movie! This one is also my favorite of the Vacation films. Very underrated. I disagree about the music...every time I go to Vegas I start to hum the Casino Theme!
Hello, If there was a "Worst Movie Of All Time", (And I think there is...Jaws: The Revenge) This would be second. What the hell I bought it anyway. I own all of the Halloween's. I just think Universal missed an opportunity to exploit the fact that it was originally in 3D! It's easy...Side 1...
Hello Stuart, Now let's see if I can cover everything... I saw Popeye when I was ten. I thought Mr. Williams did a fantastic jobe...or is it job? I didn't see it in 70mm. (Hell, at ten I was lucky if I knew it was in Stereo!) I was never a big fan of the original Segar comics...I never even...
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!
Now if I remember correctly...
TNG was shot on 35mm and then transfered to a video master for broadcast.
The special effects are also shot on 35mm.
In Hollywood...they like to shoot special effects on 70mm.
This is so when all of the elements are placed...
Well, I know this is sacrilegious but I still think Baldwin was the best Jack Ryan. I know Harrison Ford IS one of the best actors in the world...but Baldwin to me was the closest to nailing Jack Ryan from the novels. I also think Ben Affleck did a very good job.
Just curious, Did anybody think the DTS track was a bit "tinny"? It didn't sound that way on the DD track. I even got out my DTS Laserdisk copy and it sounded a lot better! Did anybody else notice this? Steve
Another great review!

I sort of shrugged it all
off the entire time I was watching the film
thinking this is the way the film must have
looked theatrically...
I think there should be a new law!
If you are a sports star, a pop star, or famous for killing someone or helping some one kill someone. You should not be aloud to act in a movie. Unless you play yourself that is. I remember some law that stated if you were a news anchor on TV you could play...
Hey Ron!
Another great review!
I manage a video store...so I got mine yesterday.
I will say that I think Twilight Zone is better.
They are both great. I just think of the Original Outer Limits as a "Monster" show with intelligence.
Keep up the GREAT work!
Steve

Let us not forget that Hollywood is a business. No mater what we think or believe. That means attaching a trailer on a movie that would give it the most exposure.
Let’s also not forget that the “Star Wars” movies have changed. I saw the 1st one when I was 7 years old. My brother took me. He was...
