I hooked up my subwoofer ( sony sa-wm40) to my mini stereo system with speaker wires, and the effect was much better than with the rca cable. HOWever i can only hear the bass but can't feel it!!.....i have a tiled floor, is that the problem??....also with the sub, all i can hear is these deep...

My mini system has 120W output ( I think) and my sub is 100W ( Aussie version :frowning: ).....could it be that when i hook it up with the speaker wires, the system is powering the speakers and thus gives more power to the amp?? ( I hope that makes sense!!)

Hey Jeff I was kinda hesitant to describe my setup cos it's nowhere near as good what you guys have!! So anyway, it's a sony stereo system with 5.1 output, I wasn't sure what you meant my what kind of rca connection, i'm just using the rca cable supplied ( it's black and thin) when i hooked...

Hi guys Ok I just bought a sony sa-wm40 to go with my sony mini system, but when i hooked it up with the rca cable, there was hardly any bass!! ( I turned the sub level all the way up, i set my speakers to small, and db level to +6 and there was little improvement). So i was just wondering...

Ok i know sony isn't the best brand when it comes to speakers but how does this sub work out??......I'm only looking for a sub to pair up with a mini surround system. I know i'm no audiophile, so can this sub be alright for movies??....I do play movies quite loud as well :)

Ok i'm thinking of getting the sony sa-wm40 and placing it about 1.5m behind the sofa in the rear corner. Does anyone have this setup?......if so can u tell me how this worked out for you compared to other positions u have tried?
