I want to upgrade from my old Pioneer Elite (SC-61) to add Atmos, DSD File support via USB and get ready for 4K! It would also let me do a better job of
EQ'ing my Sub than the older version of MCACC on my current receiver.
Ideally, it would be with this Denon receiver, add some in-ceiling speakers to my existing B&W 5.1 setup and use the money I just saved from buying a receiver to add a 4K flatscreen.
Mine would be to replace my old Pioneer Receiver with the Onkyo TX-NR1030, and either installing in-ceiling speakers or placing add-on modules to the top of my speakers (like the Onkyo SKH-410)
If you are using i.Link, I would go the Pioneer - it outputs "pure" DSD over firewire for SACD, while the Denon converts it to PCM first. It I were using the analog outs, the Denon would be the way to go - time adjustment for SACD, better audio DACs, etc.

I recently auditioned the 56Txi and the 3805 on Sonus Faber speakers and I have to admit, as much of a Denon fan as I am, the Elite (to my ears) significantly outperformed the Denon - much warmer and fuller-sounding. I have not heard either HK. If PoLogix IIx is not a priority, you could...
I am in the market for a quality receiver to mate with my B&W cdm 1nt's. I am looking to spend $1000 - $1500. The Pioneer Elite 55-Txi appeals to me with it's iLink interface, but I have not heard if Pioneer mates well with B&W's. I have heard that Rotel and NAD both do, but their lack of...
Did anyone else get the new XBox magazine with the demo of ESPN Football on it? The demo works in 720P and looks AMAZING. There are loads of bump-mapped textures on the uniforms (wrinkles in jerseys and the pads in the pants). I can't believe how real this one looks. You really have to see...
