Actually, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is unrated. There never was an "R"-rated version released. It went to the theaters unrated and the MGM DVD is the same unrated print as well. Unfortunately it doesn't include the extra 10 minutes of deleted scenes that were on the Elite laserdisc, including...
Did anyone else find the cameo by Dr. Silberman (the psychiatrist from T1 and T2) awkward? I think it was supposed to be amusing and to give some sense of familiarity with the previous movies, but it just felt clumsy and out of place. Thoughts?
Perhaps a bit off-topic, but you know what would've been a better Basic Instinct SE cover? A close-up still of Sharon Stone's legs in the interrogation room....and a hologram effect (ala the "Bad Taste" SE DVD cover). Imagine the rest. THANK YOU and goodnight..I'm outta here!
According to DVDFile "NEAR DARK" is streeting on 9/24. There's no mention of it in the article, but I'm crossing my fingers and fangs for a fully-loaded special edition. Hail once again to the mighty Anchor Bay. (Now only if you guys could release "Fight For Your Life" with a Bill Sanderson...
Anyone know if the subtitles on the French Region 2 DVD are removable on the Apex 600a? The French DVD is anamorphic and the Dutch release isn't. But I've read that the French subtitles may not be removeable with some DVD players on the French release. Thanks.
According to the DVDPlanet site, the new Goodtimes double feature re-release of HALLOWEEN 2 and 3 is anamorphic. Can anyone confirm this? I'd love a new anamorphic transfer of HALLOWEEN 3 (One of my favorites and highly underrated if you ask me).
Imagine my disdain today when I opened my mailbox and discovered the new Anchor Bay re-release of Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE is not a new anamorphic transfer. (In fact, it's exactly the same DVD release as before, just with a slightly different cover) This truly sucks, especially since DVDPlanet...
Just saw this on DVDPlanet's release schedule:
MEET THE FEEBLES DVD
Director: Peter Jackson
Synopsis:
Imagine if the puppet-creations that appeared on your favorite family variety show were real...and had real adult problems and vices; adultery; Vietnam flashbacks; drugs; murder...
Image announced Lucio Fulci's "Cat In The Brain (aka Nightmare Concert)" DVD many many months ago and I was wondering if it has been released yet. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
I love the packaging for the Bad Taste LE. I think it's very cool and clever and deserves some praise. The transfer also beats the s*** out of my old VHS copy and the Canadian DVD. At long last the blood is really red and not orange looking. (This is important considering that blood is almost a...
Just got my Opera replacement today along with the Moonlighting pilot DVD. Guess they ran out of Supergirls and decided to provide us unfortunate souls with a glimpse of Bruce Willis in his pre-Rogaine days. God bless you Anchor Bay.
Anybody know of any online DVD retailers who have the new corrected version of OPERA (Version 2.0) in stock? I'm tired of waiting for Anchor Bay to mail my copy out.
Not sure about there being a new transfer (I kinda doubt it), but then again I never got to watch the movie. The documentary played fine, but the actual movie started breaking up from pixiation during the opening credits and eventually just stopped altogehter. This happened on my Toshiba SD-5109...
I'm not sure if the current Tai Seng release of John Woo's "Bullet In The Head" is the uncut version. I believe the original cut is somewhere around the 130-150 minute mark. Years ago it was rumored that Criterion would be putting out a definitive cut with Woo's participation. Too bad it wasn't...
Just received a new Heathers standard edition DVD to replace my other defective LE Tin disc. On the back of the disc is the re-assuring "Version 2.0" sticker. Haven't watched it yet, just thought I'd let everyone know about the Version 2.0 release. I got the disc from DVD Planet.
My Heathers LE Tin DVD is unplayable in both my Toshiba SD-5109 and my Apex DVD player. I've ordered the regular edition in hopes of a glitch-free disc. Anybody had any problems with either the LE or the regular edition? Thanks.
