Sorry to bring up somewhat old threads again, but I saw a nice selection of DVD-A's at BB yesterday and I remembered that they could play in any DVD player! Should I get some DVD-A's now? I'm OK with 2-channel stereo right now and will eventually upgrade to 5.1 and a universal player. The only...
Micheal,
Oh I do need a universal player! All of the bands that you listed in both camps were all favorites of mine. (BTW, what Frank Zappa disc is coming to DVD-A?) I don't think I could live without the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds in Hi-Rez or REM's Document in the same, but that also goes for...
I am getting mad at myself because I haven't saved for a home theater system. But, I'm even more mad at the fact that I haven't gotten an SACD player yet. I remember holding one off until the future when the Stones remasters came out. But now with The Police, Pink Floyd, The Who, Peter Gabriel...
Nahhhhhhhhh........
I'm still waiting for:
Manos, The Hands of Fate: Criterion
Time Chasers: Criterion
Space Mutiny: Criterion
Hobgoblins: Criterion (4-disc set with commentary by Rick Sloane!)
and of course...
MITCHELL-10 DISC CRITERION BOXED SET
:D
Hi,
I was looking through e-bay and noticed quite a few Gold MFSL's I wanted to get. I then found a great site that had listings of both MOFI LP's, Cassetts, and CD's. (That's www.aurealm.com BTW) I noticed that there were some great discs I wanted to buy...
...But I do not know if some are...
:emoji_thumbsup:
WOO HOO!
Finally, after rumors that it would never come out because of the "master tapes" being lost, LIVE AT POMPEII IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can throw that old VHS copy away :D
And, what's even better is that in the same month, a DVD-AUDIO version of Dark Side is...
WOO-HOO!!!!
BB finally had the Stones remasters out and they had a good variety of the albums there. But, Hot Rocks was there and, well, I picked it up. :D
Anyway, there is really nothing to complain, IMO, about this album. I like how the digipak was styled with the "poster" opening into a...
I looked for Hot Rocks, and they didn't have it (at Best Buy, at least!!). But, every where else, it was at maximum price at $30.00!!! And there's no Newbury Comics in Houston, AFAIK. Deep Discount sounds like the best way to go, so I'll probably order from there.
The only thing is...
I personally think that the best way to hear the Beatles on CD (as opposed to the 1987 remasters) is to get the Red and Blue albums. These seriously make the '87 discs inferior! For example, A/B the original Come Together from the Abbey Road CD and then compare it to the Blue version. The AR...
I've made a decision...
I'll just buy the remastered Hot Rocks next week, and then according to the suggestions in the way earliear post, I'll buy Let It Bleed up to Exile. :)
Thanks!
I've always liked The Rolling Stones, but for some reason never really bought their albums (actually one of the reasons was because there seemed to be so many albums:)) So with the new remasters coming out in about 7 days, I thought I should start my RS collection. (I would normally post a...
Yes, it is intresting. The first item (unless you find the easter egg with all the DVD credits...same way you find the director interviews on each episode) is an interview with co-creator Mark Frost (whose dad, Warren Frost, played Donna's father according to IMDB.com). This was recorded in...
I also forgot to mention that there are a few things you can have until the release of Season Two. First, there is the original soundtrack to Twin Peaks, which was put out during the show's summer break. If you love that jazzy and sometimes dark and haunting score, this is for you. And also...
Even though I'm still begging to see Season 2 of Twin Peaks, I know that there is one feature that does spoil, majorly!!!! (I haven't seen it and I don't plan to until I have finished watching the entire series) It's the feature "Introduction to David Lynch" on the Tibet menu. Some person...
While I understand that rights issues for many of the movies are still a problem, I would one day love to see all eleven (including the KTMA ep's) seasons out. But, of course some season's had 24 episodes and MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000 for those who don't know) ran about 90 minutes...
Both 1 and 4...
There is on thing I hate about DVD's. It's when you buy one, a newer improved one comes out, sometimes though. But, FOTR is no exception! I want the 2-disc WIDESCREEN theatrical version and the 5-disc set. Also, when 2005 comes along, if it's true, I'll buy the mega LOTR...
(Since the admins. deleted the original post, I decieded to repost it on this thread)
It seems to me that each year the OAR/P&S debate gets larger and larger. Ever since WB announced that Willy Wonka was going to be released in P&S only (which was resolved by a HUGE petition and customer...

I fear for the life of DVD. Pretty soon, we may need HD-DVD because it's for home theater systems and WS TV's. DVD may become the next VHS. :frowning:
I DEFINITLY want this on DVD.
Talk about the Texas Taliban, but I was about to record and watch it all and then when I flipped it on, the audio was screwed up. It was fuzzy and had a static noise and you could barley hear what DeNiro, the filmakers, and the firefighters were saying. So then I...
Yesterday night I bought the first season at Best Buy (and I paied 54 dollars!!!!) I've heard that a few of the special features spoil what is to come on S2 for Twin Peaks. Which special features are spoilers?
I hope this is true! 4 versions on three discs is very cool indeed (and yes that is possible...just look at T2). Of course, my dream director's cut would be this:
-WS presentation (:D)
-DTS 6.1 and DD EX 5.1
-All of the extra violence (the scene when Batty pushes Tyrell's eyes and we see them...
Hmmm...
Three only?
Well here goes:
Brazil (Criterion Collection) (Extras) OK, it's not a demo disc. But, it is a film that I love, you get two different versions of it (great cut, bad "short attention span" cut), and plus none of the features are bad at all (well the What is Brazil? feature...
OK, I was thinking about posting this as a seperate post but since so many people ask the DVD questions on this group, Echoes and the Pink Floyd newsgroup, and other places. I will start in order:
Live At Pompeii- Bad news for all you people who want this bad on DVD. Unfortunatly, ex-member...
