How about in TOMBSTONE when Doc Holiday continues to ride with Wyatt Earp even though Doc is dying of (Leukemia?)or when Wyatt Earp goes to fight to the death with Johnny Ringo even though he knows he cannot beat him.
Point taken,
Thanks for your help guys. I think maybe I'll hold off a while on a DVD recorder.
As for my next purchase, I'm still juggling between a PVR, a PS2, or a Behringer Feedback Destroyer (since I got my first SVS 20-39 last week). :) :) :)
Thanks again,
Eric
Hey guys,
Just perusing the latest Crutchfield and came across this unit. Looks pretty cool, but I don't remember any mention of it here. Is this the proverbial nail in my VCRs coffin? or just another gadget? How about coupling it with a PVR? :)
Does anyone have any experience with this unit...
Hey guys,
I'm going to be upgrading to a SVS 20-39 next week, hurray. Right now, I'm using a JBL PB12 as my main sub and a PB10 in the rear. When I added the PB10, I thought that it added a new dimension to my setup, espicially with discrete effects from the surround channels! (ie. AFO when...
I seem to be upgrading at least once a month, last month I bough a Denon 3802 & Polk RT55s...I'm purchasing a SVS 20-39 next week!!!!
(Holding my head)
Can someone please STOP THE MADNESS?!!!!!

Sweeeeet!!!
Ron, I'm on the third floor too, same situation.
What do you think of my still using a rear sub...either my PB12 or another 20-39..Is this overkill?

Hey guys,
Sorry, I've got another question about this.
So here we go....Does it make sense to use a 20-39CS+amp as my LFE and a second 20-39PC as my rear sub using the line level in/outputs?
I loved the effect when I first started using a rear sub. I think it adds a whole new dimension. Am I...
Jonathan,
That's correct. I have the FX500s as the rear channels & the RT55s as the surrounds. I read somewhere that this allows for better imaging of discrete sounds from the surrounds and more of a seamless soundfield in the rear.
Jonathan,
I just upgraded to 7.1 about a month ago. I, too was using the FX500s as my surrounds. After researching, I found that many places recommend direct radiating surrounds for discrete effects and dipoles in the rear for a seamless soundfield.
Anyway the RT55s were on special at...
Eric,
So you'e the reason that I couldn't get a space in my username!
I'm from norhtern Illinois, about 30 minutes outside of Chicago.

Well my friends, I just got the answers to my last questions on the SVS site and I'm happy to say that I will be buying my first 20-39CS a week from friday!!!
Thanks for all your help.
Eric
Do you think I would be able to run a 20-39cs with an old Sony STR-AV570 stereo receiver?
Does it have line in and line out connections?
If I wait a month, I can get the ...PC, but the waiting is the hardest part!

Hey guys,
Thanks for the input!!
Holadem: Oh, its all about the movies!!!I say, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MOVIES!!! :) :) :)
Jah-Wren: Point taken, but if you read my other post, you'll see I've already nicknamed my hometheater " The Leasebreaker"
Unfortunately I just sold the last receiver...
Well, since I'm most likely getting a SVS or two to add to the system for the holidays and I'm still in an apartment. I may have to change the name from "Superbeast" to "The Leasebreaker."
2 SVSs huh?? How would that work? Would one be for the front and one for the back? Would you stack them???? Could I get one amp to power 2 CSs?
Wait a minute, nice try. I'm only supposed to be getting one SVS for now. :)
I am intrigued though. How do you guys setup dual SVSs?
Thanks, Charles.
I do run my mains large, and the system sounds great.
At this point I have rationalized an excuse to further upgrade, and am looking for what would make the biggest impact as an addition to my current setup.
I have heard great things about the SVSs & was thinking of movint...
LOL
You guys are killing me! Well it's good to see that the Superbeast is not alone in the cold, cruel world of hometheater, but that there are other systems out there emptying wallets, enraging spouses, and shaking neighborhoods....one day at a time.
By the way can someone help out...
So it looks like the SVS is the way to go.
I see alot of people are getting the non-powered version w/the seperate amp. After visiting the SVS website, I am leaning towards the model w/an onboard amp. Am I making a mistake here? Which did you guys buy?

Hi all,
Eric the newbie again. I've just joined your wonderful forum & already my 2nd topic. :)
I know this may sound like a strange question & this may not be the right place to ask it, but humor me for a moment.
I believe that as you build your hometheater it takes on its own character...
John,
My room is 12W x17L x 8H with almost the entire side wall opening into the kitchen and a hallway. The Denon has enough power, but I've heard that an external amplifier would improve sound?
Thomas,
You bet I would move both subs to the rear if I decide on the SVS. In my 5.1 setup, I had...
Hey guys,
I stumbled across this forum a couple of months ago, and have been addicted ever since. It's nice to find a group of people as enthusiastic about this stuff as I am. This site is a veritable bastion of knowledge, from which all my hometheater questions are answered before I even ask...
