Intel going it alone for STB and DVR?

Kevin, Another downside with the cloud storage is data bandwidth and potential charges coming from your ISP to access that data.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Ella Enchanted -- in Blu-ray

It starts out a little slow, but the second and third acts are quite entertaining (in a corny sort of way).

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial -- in Blu-ray

Watched it last night and I totally agree with Mr. Harris. It looks and sounds perfect and still makes me cry to this day. Awesome movie!

It certainly helps that Cameron supervised the conversion. Many may not realize this, but there were a lot of scenes in "Avatar" that were converted as well.

    3D Blu-ray Review Titanic 3D Blu-ray Review

Great review Neil. I totally agree with your assessment of the A/V quality of the discs. Paramount/Cameron hit the ball out of the park on this one. Fans of the film will be extremely impressed.

My discs came in today, but I haven't had a chance to check out any of the changes yet.

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Dictator -- in Blu-ray

I'm with Robert on this one...I enjoyed it much more than Cohen's previous efforts and it has nothing to do with the $2 million in currency that was sent my way as well. One would think they were trying to pay us off for positive reviews!

Just made the call. They said once the discs come it they'll be mailed in 5-7 business days.

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

I've always thought they should have a "Starfleet Academy" show based out of San Francisco showing the rigors of learning to be a Starfleet officer.

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

I like all the series' except for Enterprise. I gave up on that in Season 2, but I wouldn't mind trying it again when it hits Blu-ray.

Totally agree with Mr. Harris...this is the best I've ever seen this film look.

Does a person really need a high end Blu-ray player?

Furthermore, not all Blu-ray players are equal. Some corrupt the output data and skew the color space. Granted, most won't be able to see this without using test equipment, but it happens nonetheless.

Blu-ray State of the Union. Are you switching to streaming media?

I can count on one hand the number of feature films I've streamed, and all of them have been for review purposes to test out a piece of equipment. I like physical media, but can see how people are switching to streaming. Most consumers could care less about the A/V quality nad they're lazy, so...

Gary, I remember reading that somewhere as well. I'll keep a look out to see if I see anything amusing. Then again, if they redid all of the effects, maybe these were redone too???

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

The sampler disc didn't have any audio problems. If anyone has a link to direct time stamps of the audio issues, I'll confirm them and contact Paramount personally with their VP of publicity.

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

As I've watched more and more episodes, this has become apparent to me as well. Switching to the Stereo track fixes the "weird" audio issues though. This is one of those examples that kills anyone who reviews a TV set. There just isn't enough time to watch every episode in its entirety before...

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

There's a bonus feature that explains why it wasn't done in 16x9 that did a very good job of convincing me that it wasn't a good idea.

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

I agree that Season 7 went downhill fast, but the finale was awesome. I think all of the creative energy was going into DS9, which ultimately was probably the best Star Trek series of the entire franchise (IMHO).

Blu-ray Review Star Trek: The Next Generation Season One Blu-ray Review

The DTS-HD MA 7.1 track can sound funky at times, but for the most part it's pretty good IMHO. Also, the Dolby Digital stereo track is showing up as a French track on my Oppo BDP-95 (Disc 2). I need to check if this is the case with every disc or not.
