I took my wife to our local best buy. She didn't like the Mitsubishi 65". Thought the picture quality was "fuzzy". She did really like the 55" Toshiba. Unfortunately, they didn't have a 65" Toshiba there. How are the Toshibas? I have a 42" Toshiba now and so far so good. My only complaint on my...
Currently I have a Toshiba TheaterWide HDTV and I'm looking to upgrade to a larger TV. I looked through here trying to find some info on which is better, Plasma, LCD or DLP. My living room is a fair size but there are 2 windows, on apposing sides. My current entertainment center blocks one of...
So, really there is no need. My toshiba has plenty of other component sets. Not to mention, I think I finally convinced my wife into getting a new TV. Now to figure out which is better, DLP, Plasma, etc.
I have a toshiba widescreen HDTV but it only has 1 HDMI input. I was wondering about HDMI. Is it worth using HDMI over component for DVD and my kids ps3? If HDMI is the way to go, what is a good HDMI switcher to use? Sorry, I haven't bought any new components for a long time but my kids ps3 is...
My tv died and I finally talked my wife into replacing it with a HDTV. Now it isn't anything special, a 30" 16:9 pureflat Toshiba. I am curious if using Avia is a good idea. I used it to set the picture on my old 32" panasonic Tau but it was analog. Should I use it on the HDTV or just leave it...
Thanks for the link. Basically, I can hook it up to my receiver right? I don't need the Computer? Right now I am using a Panasonic 32" tau with the s-video running to the monitor out on the receiver. Then all of my ocmponents are hooked into my reveiver and it is used as a video switcher...

1. Will a projector like this work well for HT.
2. How do you hook up the receiver and satallite and all that stuff.
Looks like a great deal if it would work.
Any good reviews anywhere?
Is there a big difference between this one and the 555es? I fortunately am able to shop at a Sony discount store (wife worked for Columbia House, owned by Sony). I got my 555 for $500 when it retailed for $1000. So, I can get the da5es for 50% of whatever sony says the retail is.
OK, I have a pioneer 7200 that has an AUX function. Just for TV or whatever. If you bought a monitor and a DVD player like the one I showed you above, you could hook it up as a stand alone or to the CD player and play the sound through the car stereo. You only need the processor if you want...
I have a str-da555es and it has performed flawlessly. I bought it back in '99 for $500 (my wife worked at sony). For the price I paid, I would buy another. I was thinking of getting a da5es but I think that I will go for seperates.
I was reading a magazine the other day and it was talking about this new formate. Which embraces the 7.1 technology. Also, it is supposed to upconvert 5.1 to a 7.1 surround.
This is very interesting and does anyone know of any receivers using this yet. They mentioned pioneer and yamaha...
Drivers have an extension that is a result of the spider and vent pole. The better drivers usually have a larger extension coefficient because they have to move farther to reproduce lower base. That is why the surrounds on a sub are so big and the ones on a tweeter are non existant. I think...
There are a lot of monitors that have headphone jacks or little speakers. The only problem with the playstation2 is that it doesn't do well in motion. The laser mechanism doesn't float like other players so it skips a lot more.
Personally, I would try something like this...
I asked this once but when the server went down and we lost all of our threads, mine disappeared also.
So, what I had asked was, can you by-pass the processor of a receiver and use the amps. I currently have a Sony STR-DA555ES and would love to get the new outlaw 950. Only, I don't think...
Depends on what you want. Is this for kids?
A few things to remember.
In dash players don't work if the emergency brake is NOT on. This is a saftey feature to keep the drivers eyes on the road.
There are surrounds for the system. They are the normal speakers. You can buy a 5.1 processor...
Did you notice that the rebate is combined? You have to buy the receiver and the Jensen 6 piece speaker system. Click on the rebate link. $150 + $180 - 120 = $210. I doubt that the speakers are that great. If you already have speakers I would just get a better receiver.
go to www.remotecentral.com
in the pronto section click on files. There you will find all the channel logos. I did this with my dish 500. It is pretty easy.
Are you looking for seperate Tivo/replay. You can get Dish or direct TV with digital hard disk capabilities. I have heard that normal DHD don't work on satallite. I am not sure if that is true or not.
Also, I think that you have to get seperate receivers. One for HDTV content and one for...
Jim is right on the money. The little ground is for the Phono. The needle dragging across a vinyl record will cause static discharge. So it gets grounded so that it has somewhere to go other than your equipment.
