I have to agree with Mike Knapp on this one...it should all come down to the artists composition...film is art and this senseless butchering has to stop....if the general public can't handle this concept well thats too bad for them... BUT in no way am i saying that its the general public's...

it is one of my favorite films and sadly only a german release exists (to my knowledge)...i don't know who owns the rights..MGM?? Artisan?? but this beautiful film needs to be released on DVD....in its OAR...of course :) i hope there are others out there who value this film as much as I do..and...

NO OAR = NO SALE!!! these works of art we call films need not be butchered to fit the un-enlighted majority...
