Universal released Live at Pompeii in Korea R3 in June and R0 Brazil in July. Both are NTSC. I ordered my R3 from Koreandvds.com but read that Yesasia.com has a substantially better price.
Or, better yet: http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/dvds.asp?title=495 Although R0, this is a PAL disc(and a very fine one at that), an external device or a dvd player that converts PAL to NTSC is required.
Check CDWow for the Aussie version, which I'm quite happy with til a R1 shows up. Price converts to about $10US, free shipping. http://www4.cd-wow.com/detail_result...duct_code=2426
FYE.com has Excel Saga vol.4 up for prorder(1/14) at $15.98. Use coupon code FYEAMEXSEASON(exp. 1/31) for an extra 15% discount, also free shipping for orders over $49.
Although I've owned the VHS version of "Rust Never Sleeps" for many, many years, I ordered the dvd blind, not knowing any specifics on aspect ratio or audio options. I was a little disappointed the widescreen image wasn't anamorphic, but the DTS option made up for it. I saw the Crazy Horse...
The Roan discs are becoming harder to find. Not sure if Troma will discontinue or not, but the Roan versions of both "White Zombie" and "The Bat/House on Haunted Hill" are still available from Columbiahouse.
I reccommend the 4 disc "Ultimate Collection" box set(extra disc contains interviews, web links etc.). Can be found for under $30 after a price drop last year, cheaper than the 3 discs seperately in some cases. Nice packaging too.
It's been a couple months, but if I recall correctly, I saw no difference when changing AXPL values. I was not using a calibration disc at the time, just went by sight. I'm very happy with the color and probably won't change anything, but from the observations posted here it sounds like there...
SteveK, I have the exact model as you, KV32FS13. I definately saw less red when axnt is at 0. I used the burning scene in Memento(happened to be in the player while tinkering) to gauge redness. I left axpl at its preset value(0) as i believe(i could be very wrong) it only affects PAL formatted...
SteveK, I have the exact same model. I set the AXNT parameter to "0"(preset was "1"). This was the only adjustment I made pertaining to red push and it made a noticable difference.
I've had the 32fs13 since Oct. Last month I finally got confident enough(through hours of searching and reading)to access the service menu to fix the few problems I've noticed, primarily red push and black level, which seem to be common among most wegas. Info can be found here...
Crumb: a somewhat disturbing look at cartoonist R. Crumb and his family.
Divine Trash: behind the scenes of John Waters' early works.
Trinity and Beyond: well made documentary chronicling footage of early atomic test blasts.
"Grateful Dead - Anthem to Beauty" is an excellent entry in the classic albums series. Vintage video from the bands acid test days, old and new interviews, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir in studio isolating tracks from the master tapes. Nice menu and decent sound. Worth owning if you're a Deadhead.
I bought this exact model 2 mos. ago. Didn't really notice any problems until I read some complaints on this forum. While not as severe as some have described, it seems I too have the common small dark vertical bar on the left of the screen and slight, intermittent discoloration in the corners...
I just received the first disc in the "Hogans Heroes" series. 4 chronological(by air date)episodes starting with the pilot. Unfortunately, this info was gleaned only from the keepcase and I cannot comment on picture quality as the dvd would not play. Never had a problem with any of my 140+ dvds...
From the certificate included w/each release, "Requests must be postmarked by 12/15/02 and received by 12/31/02"
Just a few notes before you purchase any of these sets:
1. packaging sucks, kinda like fight club except no outer shell and the trifold is secured by velcro.
2. although the only...
I've had $25 worth of BB gift cards(incentive at work) for more than a year now. My tastes are definately not mainstream, therefore contrary to all BB stands for. Although I dread walking in there, on 9/25 I thought they would certainly carry a dvd I wanted to own. So I broke a years old vow and...
This is a 2-tape set. One tape has about an hours worth of unedited videos, everything up to "perfect drug". Tape 2 runs 1 1/4 hrs. and has documentary/live music footage, including some from the nin/bowie tour. It's a nice set and I'm sure I'll replace my vhs, but including the newer videos...
I'm relieved to see others found the audio on R&R High School bothersome. "Harsh" is a very appropriate term for the audio on this release. I get high end "crackle" not only during the music, but dialog as well. Granted, my amplifier is 4 yrs. old, mid-priced Dolby Surround, but i've never heard...
